Hey guys,
I took the NLN pre entrance exam at Farmingdale on March 27(this was the last date it was given and my original testing date in February was canceled due to the weather.) I called them today and they said all the acceptance decisions have been made already. She said that I was never denied, which was good, but I just didn't get accepted either. I'm really upset I thought I would get in. My score on the NLN was 91 and composite score of 131. Congrats to everyone who got accepted!!

If you have not been denied then there is still hope because you are still on the waiting list. There are still a couple of months for people to either back out, or make their acceptances to other colleges. Best if luck to you.

If farmingdale is where you want to then all hope is not lost. As the last poster said, people change their mind. I do suggest trying to not out any other non courses you may need like psych or microbiology if you haven't already. Trust me you don't want to be taking any other classes with your nursing classes.

Are you currently a Farmingdlae student? If so you can log in and you will see your application status. Mine said I was waitlisted up until 3 days ago where it was changed to denied. I then got a rejection letter.
I have spoken a few times with the admissions lady in charge of Nursing. She told me that they start accepting students who got 99 on the NLN then they work their way down. She said though they also do take into account the students grades, but the process does start from the highest NLN grade.
I only got an 82 on the NLN and was placed on the waiting list. When I called 2 weeks ago I was told that they had accepted all the students they needed to accept and being I was on the waiting list meant that if a student decided not to attend that school then another seat would open up and they would pull from the top of the waiting list (highest NLN grade) and accept that person. I was also told that all final letters would be sent out after May 1st and there were currently 92 people on the waiting list. May 1st was the last day for accepted students to pay their $100 deposit and accept the seat. I probably got my letter early because with a low grade of 82 there was no way they would get to me, but being you have a 91 there is still hope! Just hope that someone dosnt pay the deposit and you are next on the waiting list!
Hope this helps! :)
Thank you all for the helpful posts!:redbeathe I'm currently at Nassau CC though so I can't check the status. I have taken some classes also besides just the pre-reqs so it won't be as demanding if I do get in the program. We'll see..I hope it works out for the best. Just trying to stay positive:)
Lau - Have you tried applying for Nassau Community's Nursing Program?
I did and found out a few days ago I was accepted!
I couldn't apply for the Fall because I am taking statistics right now.. but that's so great to hear!! Best of luck to you:D

I got accepted to the Farmingdale program starting this Fall. They told me the same thing about the NLN pre-entrance exam. When I spoke to them in person I saw on her desk that they wrote the score on the top of each applicant's application and put them in order by score. Even though I got in, I honestly think they were a bit unorganized this year (probably not anticipating the high number of applicants). Just stay in contact with the school, if you stay fresh in their minds, you may have a better chance getting off the waitlist.
:)
Lau - Have you heard from NCC yet?
Nope, just got a call from Farmingdale this week though and someone dropped out..so i got in!!! I'm so excited I cannot wait to start
I am so happy for you!!! Congratulations!!!
Thanks Jupiter! You got into Farmingdale also right? I was wondering if you knew when we had to wear the Jade (hunter green) scrubs? I recently met with someone from the nursing department but she didn't mention this to me and I didn't notice we had to get these until after I left. Thanks =) I can't wait to get started!
