Farmingdale State College Spring 2022 Nursing Program

Published

Hi guys, I am currently a student at Farmingdale under the STS major. I plan on applying for the Advanced Standing Nursing Program in Spring 2021. I have not seen a thread for Spring 2021 so thought I would make one. Everyone can write their stats, TEAS scores, GPA, questions, and any concerns about the program on here. Hopefully this helps everyone out!

I work 3 nights and plan to continue. I also have 2 children. I anticipate the first semester being the most challenging

I’m going to be working as much as I can - it depends on my schedule

If I get called off the waitlist, I'm going to work overnights FT. I hear that the first semester doesn't have much flexibility. It's 5 days a week. So that will probably be the hardest semester. A co worker of mine is in his second year there.

Do you know if it’s still 5 days a week if you have classes already completed (non-nursing ones but stuff like pathophysiology, child development etc)?

From what he told me it doesn't matter. The first semester is 5 days a week like 4 hrs a day or so.

Yep this is also what I was told by current students.

That it will be 5 days a week for the first semester regardless. There are 2 tracks you can choose from in terms of the times of classes but not much flexibility for the first semester.

Oh that’s not bad, I was imagining 5 12-hour days ?

Hey guys,

By any chance, does anyone know if they are getting a Pell Grant from Fasfa for Spring 2022. Because my financial aid only shows the tap award and there is no Grant. And also do they based the financial pell grant on the courses that goes toward your major?

If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks

Hey just have some questions for everyone accepted. I'm waitlisted. Nursing told me I'm very high on the waitlist and they will start calling from waitlist after today's deadline. I'm just wondering if the deadline is like end of day today and also when orientation is? Just trying to gage when I may hear from them. Thank you and congrats!

IDK what time deadline is but I would assume by midnight. Orientation is December 9th from 1-3.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you and I have a feeling you are going to get in!!

OK thank you. I hope so. I'm already enrolled in suffolk, but farmingdale was always my first choice. I would just have to switch my work hours etc so it would be pretty hectic if I don't hear in the next week or so.
