Farmingdale Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I didn't see a topic for spring 2019 for this school so I thought I'd start it for everyone. Everyone feel free to share grades/teas scores and such! I'll start.

Statistics: A

Human Anatomy & Physiology I: A

Human Anatomy & Physiology II: A

English Composition: B+

Introduction to Psychology: B+

Overall GPA: 3.3

TEAS: 90.0 Overall (98th Percentile)

Has anyone spoken to them about how registration for classes is going to work? It seems like we'll get some sort of schedule at orientation I guess?

yeah they will give us two schedules to choose from

Are you guys planning on working during the semester too? Not sure how old everyone is etc, but I currently work full time and will be going down to part time during the semester. Just not sure how part time I will be or what my schedule will be so I'm just kinda sitting here and waiting for orientation lol

Not sure if I'll be working yet. But I logged into my DegreeWorks today and saw that it says Nurisng-4year at the top, and I'm confused because I thought this was a three year program. Does it say that for anyone else?

yep! it says the same for me too

the program is three years, it's just that they don't differentiate between the 3year and 4year programs on degree works because the only difference really, is when you take your pre-reqs

Oh okay, because there are still some classes I haven't taken yet like Microbio, bioethics and communication, so will that set me back to graduate later than 3 years?

You can still graduate in 3 years, you will just need to take those on top of your nursing classes, either during the regular semester or a summer session/winter session. I just took bioethics this semester and there's an online class for that. (I would suggest that for sure, super easy and actually enjoyable) I also have to take a humanities class and a communications class. I plan on doing those in a summer session or maybe one of the regular semesters when the schedule is a little lighter(I think there's 1 semester where we only have 7 credits for nursing)

Hey everyone! What schedule did you guys decide to pick/which hospital? Is anyone trying for the DEU?

as of right now, I chose the A schedule. Plainview is my first choice, and St.Jospeh's is my 2nd (if I get in the DEU)

what about you?

I also chose schedule A with Plainview as my 1st choice but I am not interested in the DEU. I keep checking my Oasis to see if they officially registered us yet but nothing yet :(

Hello all! Hopefully I get a response and that everyone who got in is doing well but does anyone know if you dont have the chemistry if they will deny you? I have completed all prerequisites and took the TEAS but just looked at the flyer says to take college level chemistry. Does this mean its worthless to still apply? And will chemistry be one of those prerequisites calculated bc I have not seen one thread stating this was a huge factor?

Hi! I know how stressful the application process is, so I logged on to answer you as soon as I could! to my knowledge, unless they've changed the requirements since last year, you do not need college-level chemistry... only the chemistry regents from high school. I have not taken a college-level chemistry course, and yet I was still accepted... i would advise you to call admissions and confirm with them, and then make your decision
