Hey guys!
I didn't see a thread started for Farmingdale's Advanced Standing Program. I wanted to see if there is anyone already preparing to apply for their Spring 2021 semester. I'm starting my application now.
Side note: Does anyone know if Farmingdale prefers/requires letters of recommendation, resume, or any additional documents (aside from official transcripts and TEAS score)??

I would assume that they would need to know you are definitely taking a seat in the program before they offer you an invitation to register and to the nursing orientation.
Regular orientation is listed on the checklist to be completed. I do believe it's a $50 deposit and the intent to enroll is a $100 deposit. All the instructions are on the portal.

when you go into your oasis account and look up classes (under register) it will say if its remote or TBA. I guess they haven't figured out if there will be some in person classes just yet, but some of the classes are def remote

I'm currently in the Farmingdale nursing program and graduating next December. I know how crazy and stressful this can all be. If you guys have any questions let me know! I would be happy to help! ?
Hi again!
Just some additional follow up questions regarding the program...
How would you describe the faculty's attitude toward student success? Do they go out of their way to help students succeed in the program?
Understandably, people do fail occasionally, but is it an accepted norm to fail a nursing exam?
Are the classes filled with repeating students or is it rare to have a classmate who failed and is now repeating the course with students who started in a later semester?
Thank you!
Just FYI my online nursing orientation time and date was posted to my portal. Mine is Dec 3 from 1-3pm, so check to see if you have any updates on your portal.
I submitted all my other documents required including immunization forms and all my deposits.
Still waiting to receive my date and time to be advised to make my schedule but I'm guessing it will posted after I complete my nursing orientation.

Same here, sounds like orientation is the same day for all of us!
Hello, and congratulations! I have received a few inbox messages, so I figured I would reply to this thread.

Professor wants you to pass. They see your success as their success. If you need help, you just have to ask.

Failure is not the accepted norm. Most test class averages that I have seen (the professors will tell you after each exam) are in the high 80s. My advice, don't compare grades because people fib, and don't beat yourself up over Bs. I went from hardly ever studying and pulling As to studying like crazy to get A- and B+. The biggest thing is, don't fall behind; stay on top of your work.

I don't know anyone who failed a class. I know a few people who came close, but the professor will work with you. Your cohort will also be your saving grace. My other advice would be to set a helpful tone with them, get to know them. You are going to go through something challenging together, so lean on each other. My cohort is very open to helping each other. We are constantly sharing notes, our knowledge, or just an ear to listen. If you are sinking, and you have a strong bond with your cohort, they will keep your head above the water.
Are classes online?
Classes for next semester are mostly remote (online but not pre-recorded) except Lab and clinical. Questions about the schedule. You get it after orientation. The first semester the schedule is made for you. It was kind of a mess, 4-5 days a week, but it gets better. It's only because you have all the labs that it will look overwhelming at first.

Hi, how are you doing? I am sorry to bother you but I have one important question. I got in the spring2021 farmingdale program but in my registration status they put second semester student. What does it mean? Because I already took so many prerequisites and classes like micro Patho and the list goes on
