how far do you drive for school

I'm thinking about applying for a school that's a little over a hour away from my home. So I'm thinking my total commute would be about 2 and a half hours a day. Do anyone drive far to get to school and how does it effect you?

I win, I win! Well, actually, not, LOL. My current commute is 85 to 89 miles one way. On a good day with light to moderate traffic and clear roads, no weather hazards, it takes 1.5 hours one way. Yesterday, with snow and ice, it 2.5 hours in the AM and 1.75 hours going home. With that kind of time involved on snowy days, I have to get up at 4AM and be out the door by 4:45 AM. If the school cancels or institutes a 2-hour delay for bad weather, too bad for me, because I have to leave my house before they make the decision.

That is too much of a commute. I am only driving this 3 days per week this semester, and I am still looking for a local place to rent. But housing choices near the school are limited and I'll probably wind up still living 30 miles away, but that is better than 89 miles.

literally 5mins :)

I use to dive 45 mins everyday to school then 45 back. I had a friend who had a hr and a half drive. You'll get use to it, its actually relaxing at times lol

Hey, when I actually calculated the mileage, it was 101-106 miles ONE WAY for me, not 85-90 like I thought. I ended up renting a room in town so I didn't have to drive all that. The bad winter plus long commute sucked up about 13-14 hours per week with just a 3-day-per-week schedule. I am still looking for an apartment or house to rent, but at least I eliminated the drive.
