Fall 2016 Wake Tech Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone,

I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?

Just the people on this post. I can't seem to find many people that are applying, even though there are hundreds I am sure. I guess they're just not as worried as we are :) I am nervous about the points since they just changed things. I have my backup school, I just would like to go to Wake.

Hmm, for some reason my last post didn't post. Oh well... Wake is actually the only school I am applying to so I am keeping my fingers crossed it works out. Although nursing my first choice, I am also applying to the radiography program.

I am nursing all the way. I'm hoping my points are good enough for Wake...I would love to know more peoples points so I could see about where I am, but at least I only have to wait a few more months to find out. If I don't get into Wake, the other school will tell me in May...worse case scenario, I find out I don't get in to either and I will apply for Spring. Fingers crossed we both get in!!

I'm going to try and apply in January 2017. I will have everything finished but micro. I need to work on teas test also.

I was told by my CNA course instructor that as of 1/1/16, NC is no longer a challenge state. Now all students must go through a program before taking the CNA exam, they can no longer just challenge the test. Has anyone else heard this?

Hello lady!

I also came to the conclusion that Soc wild be able to replace my nutrition, even though I got a B, I would love to get an A. I'm also taking critical thinking and hoping to get w good score as wel. Have you completed those courses yet?

I'm taking sociology and critical thinking this semester. I love critical thinking, but struggling with sociology. Did u take the teas yet?

CN_2bRN919 I know that most schools do not accept your CNA's if you challenged the course, you have to have proof of completing a course that has so many lecture and so many clinical hours. Wake is the only school I have seen that accepts hours worked as a CNA in place of proof of completing a course. I have done both...I took the CNA class at JCC, have worked at UNC since Oct 2014, and now have my NA II as well. I think it's beneficial to take the class over challenging the exam anyway.

I have completed everything except Micro, which is why I felt it was an okay time to apply since they said most successful applicants have finished all but one or two of the courses. Has anyone heard of an updated idea of what the accepted points will look like?

Nooooo :(. Chickened out. I literally just set up a study schedule for myself 2 weeks on each section so I can take it April. Won't be able to take time of at work until April so it works I guess. Then CNA, how's that going for you or have you completed?

I have not heard much about points. I was talking with someone on another thread and she mentioned that she was told that they are estimating the acceptable points range for fall 2016 to be 155 or higher. Of course that's just an estimate, they haven't started going through applications yet. It could be higher or lower. I'm eager to know the points for fall applicants as it will give me a gauge for the spring.

What other thread are you on? I feel like everyone on this thread is planning on applying for Spring 2017 not Fall 2016. I know they are taking applications until Monday since the 31st is on Sunday. I am really hoping that the points are 155 lol that looks like I am right on the border...i'd like to see what other people are at for applying in the Fall
