Hey Everyone,
I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?
Hi Mrslaflin, welcome! What changes are you referring to concerning the TEAS? You mentioned the TEAS would be changing at the end of this month. I know there was a change in points between this cycle and last cycle. Last cycle students received 50 points if they scored a 71 or above, this cycle the TEAS points are broken down differently (as mentioned by Jpeters247). Will you be taking your CNA class at Wake Tech?
Hey guys!
So it was my first day of nursing school! I was 15 mins late due to underestimating how bad traffic would be :/ but other people were late too. The first thing we did was a medication calculation pre-test. After that it was like any other orientation. I'm still kind of confused about the scheduling but they said in a couple off weeks we will get into a groove. I am very excited about the program though. Wake tech has an awesome lab that not a lot of schools do. The manikins are very high tech they are like real patients. We won't be using those just yet but it's exciting. Also you can tell the instructors really want you to succeed. Everyone about to graduate in December all have jobs at wake med already! It's a great program it seems and I am excited to be apart of it. I can't for yall to get yalls acceptance letters as well!
CN_2bRN919 I did not get my flu shot yet and I am not sure when I suppose to get it by yet. I'm sure I'll know soon. But I work in a pharmacy and we are just now getting in the flu shots. As I'm sure you know it changes every "flu season" so you have to have the current one.
EmilyNicole91, so glad that you had a great first day! I hope your semester goes well! Keep us updated! I recently got my flu shot at a pharmacy. I was told by Ms. Smith that they require students to get their shot between 9/1-9/30. Since my shot was for this flu season (I just got it early) the program would accept it if I was admitted for spring 2017. When is your first clinical day?
Next Thursday I believe. I know I've been assigned to wake med. Working in a pharmacy definitely helped me. For some reason I thought they would give you the conversions ( like 30 ml = 1 Oz, 1 teaspoon = 5ml) but they didn't. You have to know that. Luckily I knew all of the ones on there bc I do stuff like that at work. I didn't find it to be hard. I will definitely keep in touch as the semester goes on!

I believe I've seen a few blue scrubs there before. I got my lab coat for my Micro class there; so I wouldn't be surprised.
