Emily (or anyone else who has been accepted and/or attended orientation), do you happen to know what a typical clinical day is like? Are students in clinical all day or just half day? Is it a 12 hour shift? It looks like for NUR 111 students only go to clinical one day a week. As the program progresses and students get into higher courses, will they eventually be going to clinical multiple days a week? Curious to know the max number of days students will attend clinical during the program. When do students find out if they are in A or B group? Is it at orientation?

PS Emily, which group are you in? A or B?

So it is just 1 day a week clinicals to start. I volunteered for evening clinicals bc I am not a morning person and I don't want to be anywhere at 645 am. They have 1 group of evening cliniclas. It is 130 to 430 the first few weeks then 130 to 730. I am also in section 4302. Just bc you're section 4302 doesn't mean you'll have evening cliniclas and vise versa. You find out your section ato orientation if you're accepted. Clinicals schedules they figure out later. They tend to have 1 evening group and they take volunteers.

I've heard that students only go to clinical about two times a week at the max? How many sets of scrubs did you buy? How are the prices? Just mentally preparing myself for all the money I'm going to drop on supplies lol

I'm sure you're running around like a chicken without a head now that life has pressed fast forward and you feel like you're behind before it even starts, lol. Enjoy the ride...Just remember us next year lol. Keep us posted!

I only brough one scrub top and one jacket because I didn't know if I was going to get in. You pay when you pick up so I don't remember the price but I believe it was 30 each. I am going to get my pants somewhere else. And I will keep y'all posted! I'll also be looking out to congratulate everyone when y'all get your acceptances!

I didn't realize you picked them up. Do you pick them up at the school? I thought they were shipped to your house.

Yeah you have to pick them up from the school. Hopefully mine will be in on time. The lady at the book store said she didn't know if they would be.

Do students have the ability to purchase more scrubs later in the semester if they decide they need another set? Where will you be getting your pants?

I'll go to a scrub shop for the pants bc I feel like I can get them cheaper. I do believe you can get more scrubs through out the semester.

I was wondering how exactly are the point awarded at wake tech with the prerequisites exactly? I'm new to the area and I know every school is different. I plan on having my application in for fall of 2017 I only have my CNA left to do I've already done all my other classes including A&P, micro, soc 210, psy 150, 241, eng 111,112 and humanities. As well as other classes on interest and also have to to my teas as I know they are changing it the end of this month. Any help would be appreciated.

EmilyNicole91, is it the health sciences campus bookstore where students pick up their scrubs?

Hey there and welcome! The teas points of course is based on what you score.....71-80 (6 points) 81-90 (12 points) 91-100 (20 points). That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Also the CNA as you already know.

P.S this was posted from another student who had inquired about Wake Techs points system. If you look around at past post, you'll get some pretty good info. Also the Sociology has changed or will change around the time you will apply. I believe its going to take the place off Nutrition, so good thing you took Soc 210. What's your points after you add them up?
