Hey Everyone,
I'm not new to this site, just new to actually joining and posting my own story since I myself am finally able to began the application process of applying to Wake Tech next Fall. Anyone else out there applying?
Coconut34...hopefully we're both really high on the alternate list. We know of at least one who isn't accepting their spot, and I'm hoping there are a lot who go somewhere else or just don't show up at orientation. I'm trying not to sweat it until after orientation...we'll have a better idea of where we stand then. I still have my back up school, but I'm hoping I get off this alternate list fast and am accepted! I'm taking micro this summer, which is my last class...I wish I had taken it in the fall because I wouldn't be worried about being an alternate now í ½í¸ž
I have LOTS of questions. First off, congrats on getting in. I cant wait to experience that. Did you have any B's. This is all I'm working with here are B's. Hope I have a good chance. The TEAS and my last class HUM 115 will allow me to make my first A. Has anyone gotten in with all B's? Are you planning on working SassyS01 while in school?
I had some B's on my transcript, but here I am an alternate for the second time! I know people that have gotten in with B's, it just depends on the other people applying! Not sure of your situation but if you can move/drive I recommend applying to Sampson CC Bladen CC and Robeson CC or Richmond CC. They don't all give you as many extra points for the sciences so a B doesn't hurt you as bad know what I mean? Like the difference between an A and a B at Wake Tech is 4 points where some of the other schools it's only 1 or 2.
Jpeters247, do you not think you'll at least have 150 points in July after completing your courses? I was looking to see how much of a difference there was in the past between fall and spring semester. Typically there is about a 25 point difference. Of course, the points are different with the new scale, but I'm thinking if you have at least 150 points you'll have a standing chance. Or at least be high on the alternate list.
I will only have 159, and that's hypothetically speaking with being able to get at least an 80 on the TEAS. I've taken EVERY class known to man, so there's nothing left else to do. I asked Mrs. Watkins if it'll be smart to retake the class I got a C in and she said "It wouldn't be worth my wild". So I will try with all B's one A in HUM115 and the C in ENG112, which I was told not take over. So I will enjoy the summer and pray all goes well. Your points are pretty high right, what was your TEAS score? I think I could've done way better with my B's because they were so close to A's. Like 88 and 89. Anything extra was given to my kids, maintaining my home and full time job and taking those A&P classes online with a fetal pig in my garage, sheep's brain and cats eye ball (lab). I gave it my all and it sucks that nowadays B's don't mean much with the nursing program, lol.
No mam Lindy, there will be no moving/driving for this mama, lol. I own my home in Raleigh and my kids are enrolled in school/daycare and I work at Rex. My set up is awesome and I'm blessed right here. Not to mention the Health Science Campus is up the block from me. What classes did you get A's in. I was so close, lol to getting an A in BIO 169. arrrrrrghhhhhhh, that would've been a nice 32 points, lol.
Yeah definitely no moving for you! I was lucky enough to be able to move to wherever I get into nursing school, so I applied everywhere! Wake Tech is my first choice but I've already been accepted to my backup so I'm not too stressed. Just can't wait for the info session to see my alternate number! I got A's in pretty much everything except the sciences, so that hurt me quite a bit.

Congrats and good luck SassyS01! So the classes that you took last spring (spring 2015) counted toward your points when you applied last July (July 2015)? Or did you not apply last spring?
