Hey everyone! I applied to UT houston and I'm waiting to hear if I got an interview. Applicants for years in the past started threads that everyone went to and kept everyone updated on information from the school, and it's nice to hear from possible (fingers crossed) other future classmates. If you don't mind, I'd also like to post our application info: GPA (science and overall), NET scores and experience.
My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.93
Science GPA: 3.75 (I think- UT link is down today :wink2:
NET: composite score was 88% (96 percentile)
I'm currently employed as a CNA in a hospital (only have about a month experience so far)
Goodluck and hopefully I get some replies!

The only class i have left is a computer class which I'm taking right now. I understand if I don't get accepted ya know, but I mean I'm not sure why I don't even qualify for an interview. I asked the lady that today when I called UT she seemed like I annoyed her. So....I've done everything I can do really. I've tried my absolute hardest, so I cna't say I didn't try. I wish everyone GOOD LUCK though!!!
Don't give up yet, it still isn't too late. At least you have a back up plan with TWU. I'm in my last class now- statistics, which is a prereq for TWU so I couldn't apply there.
I don't know your situation and if you could/would wait a semester but 2010 they are starting a new class in the Spring semester. A girl a couple years ago didn't get accepted first time around but renewed her application and made in the next time- at least it would only be a few months and not a whole year to start UT. I am thinking about going for that option if it doesn't work out for me for Fall 2009- we'll see... But again, you have solid grades and your net is not that bad, and it's not too late for you to still get a letter...

hmm...I'm not sure whether or not I should bother calling. I know how you feel nhoward. The only letter I got was the one giving me my utlink Id and password. I have heard of people getting in ut houston with lower gpa and net than mine. The avg. for last year was 3.25 or something (so i've heard), so I don't know why we are not selected for interviews. Last time I called the lady sounded annoyed at me, so that's why I'm so hesitant.
I just wanted to let you know that you should definitely call. I had a crappy GPA on my undergrad degree (3.2) but a 3.65 on nursing pre-reqs and a 4.0 on science pre-reqs. I didn't receive an interview letter, and then they called me this afternoon to tell me that the interview letter had been returned as undeliverable as addressed-even though it was the same address that was on the course checklist they sent me a week ago and the address used for the letter that gave me my UTlink ID in January. Not sure why it was returned, but now I have an interview set up for tomorrow. So you should call!
Did you talk to Mrs. Young? I called her today and she didn't seem like she wanted to talk to me. I am worried though and will be kinda mad if they are letting others interview and I'm not even going to get the chance to interview. I won't be mad if i interviewed and didn't get in but if i didn't even get the chance to interview...
I'm not sure who I spoke to--they called me because the letter had been returned. I was under the impression that the interview process worked like it does at most other colleges--they interview the top 25 or 50% of their applicants and choose final acceptances from that set of people. But I've never asked anyone about this, so that was just my assumption. Good luck!
I tried to call, but I couldn't get in touch with anyone who could help me. I sort of got the "run around", and I eventually left a message. I will try again tomorrow, but I called 3 times today. I also called one lady directly because I saved her number. Apparently she wasn't available because I only got her voice mail.
