Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
I'm still waiting to hear back from UTH as well. Fortunately, I was accepted to Texas State's BSN program in Round Rock. I currently attend TXST's main campus. My family lives in Houston so it would be nice to stay in this area but we shall see!
I do remember you having great stats.. I just don't understand much of the process anymore
Pre-req GPA:3.85
Science GPA: 4.0
HESI A&P Score: 88
HESI Overall: 95
Previous Bachelors?: Yes, from TAMU
# of W in entire college career:2 (one in tennis ( I sucked!))
Any other ideas on why you may have gained acceptance: Luck!
My application was completed right before the deadline in March.
Good luck to all who are still waiting to hear!
Pre-req GPA: 3.8Science GPA: 3.75
HESI A&P Score: 93 Overall. 92 A&P
Previous Bachelors?: No
# of W in entire college career: 7, from back in the early 2000s, but I retook each one and made an A
Any other ideas on why you may have gained acceptance: Hispanic and being a veteran might have helped.
This right here is good news y'all. Because this already debunks the whole "you can't get in with more then 6 W's" thing. Good news! Yay!
Thanks for sharing your stats! Good luck to you!
Pre-req GPA: 3.6Science GPA: 3.75
HESI: 91% w an 88% in A&P
No previous bachelors degrees, this is actually my first try at applying so I'm very thankful I got accepted. I really don't know what else could have contributed other than my grades. And I only have 1 W!
Anna, were you done with your pre-reqs when you put in your application?
Didn't receive anything today :/ let's hope more acceptances come out tomorrow !
I have been accepted to my backup school COM , but it is just the ADN program. Which sucks because I have my pre reqs all done for BSN school. I worked out the math though and say I am denied for fall and denied for Spring (since being denied 3x or more is common with UT unfortunately) and say I get in Summer 2018. To complete I'll be done around late 2019/ early 2020 with my BSN.
If I choose to go to COM since I'm in , I'll finish August 2019 plus two more semesters to complete an online RN to BSN. Making it around the same time frame in the end. Sorry for my rambling, maybe it'll help others thinking about this as well.
Unfortunately, I am another person patiently (LOL) waiting to hear back. My stats are super mediocre (Overall: 3.2 Pre-req: 3.4 Pre-req science: 3.3 HESI: 92). I have 4 years of nursing assistant experience at an on campus doctors office, CPR certified and I will graduate from TAMU in August. I have 4 W's in my college career- because I started out as Pre-Med and ochem and physics are pure evil. I think it would be extremely unfair of them to take W's into consideration because life happens!! I've also been accepted to TCU's accelerated nursing program, but UTHSC is my dream nursing school! Anyways, I just wanted to come out from my stalking this page every 5 minutes position. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who have already been accepted!
I'm also graduating from TAMU in August! Gig 'em and good luck, I'm sure that everything will work out for the best! :)
Pre-req GPA:4.0
Science GPA: 3.75
HESI A&P Score: 92
HESI Overall: 94
Previous Bachelors?: Yes (by the time class starts because I am graduating from TAMU in August)
# of W in entire college career: None
Any other ideas on why you may have gained acceptance: I submitted my application super early (literally two days after it opened because I'm extra lol) so that might have had something to do with it
Good luck to everyone. It's awesome to be able to talk with and support one another. The info and people on this forum definitely helped me through some stressful times and I genuinely hope every single person gets in because you all deserve it!
