Hi all!
Thought I would start a thread for the fall semester! Anyone who wants to share their stats or anything about the application process can post them here! My stats as of now...
Pre-nursing GPA: 3.54
Science GPA: 3.67
HESI: 87.7
Pretty worried that my stats aren't good enough. Scored low on the A&P section of the HESI (80%) but made an A in the class...hoping maybe that will help even it out? I get discourage when I read through the other threads and see people get rejected with 4.0 GPA's and 90s on the HESI. I do have 80 volunteering hours at a children's hospital but I doubt that would help me enough.
One question about Texas Woman is it true you won't be considered if you have even one "C"? Thanks
It depends on a lot of factors. A) the campus, B) the semester, and C) the course it's in. The Dallas campus is more competitive than Houston supposedly. As is the case with most programs, Fall is harder to get into than Spring. I had 1 "C" in my pre-reqs but none in the "nursing core GPA" that they really look at which includes micro, a&p 1, a&p 2, statistics, developmental psych, and nutrition.

Thank you
that was helpful
I will definitely try there if fall 2017 isn't my semester

Texas Woman's also gives preference to those that have a prior degree or have completed a certain number of credit hours at TWU.
Also, TWU uses a point system for admissions. There is an Excel document you can use to calculate your points, which is a combination of nursing pre-reqs, core pre-reqs, preferences, and your TEAS score. I couldn't find the Excel document on the site anymore, but I type in "Texas Woman's GPA Worksheet" into Google and it popped up.
Is me again! Wow! Awesome! Can I ask your stats?
Thats awesome two schools already! Congrats!!!
Thank you! And I'll list my stats below:
TEAS: 86
TWU points: 52.74 (this includes the points for a bachleor's degree; on the worksheet, it asks for previous bachelor's so I don't think associates counts)
TWU Nursing Core GPA: ~3.7
It is a great program but takes 2 years vs. 15/16 months bc they take summer off. Check out the TWU Fall 2017 Nursing Applicants page on here to see other people's stats bc there is a range
