Hey guys 💜 just wanted to open a thread for Fall 2018 applicants at Tarrant County College ADN program! I know application cycle isn't open for about another month but I saw a few comments on the Spring 17 thread and thought we could have our own thread already!

I'm applying with the following:

A&P I: B

A&P II: A

Micro: A

HESI: 94.5

I can't wait to "meet" some of you on here and I've got my fingers crossed for all of us!

Any last minute people dropping off applications today??

I turned in my app last Thursday..n the lady was so busy she didnt tell me how many fast track applicants it was so far. Where did you find the info on how many they accept.

Thank you for replying. I found out by emailing the nursing department a couple months ago. I was told typically 35-40 apply and they take 20.

Are those 20 for the fast track in addition to the 150 they accept making it a total of 170?

Really..wow thats great.I thought more applied. We both have great scores so kudos to us..Now we wait. But i did notice something different on the info session..All fast track applicants have to have ALL general courses completed prior to applying. And that wasnt the case last term..I wonder y they changed that. Thank god i finished my Hum class this March, which i was only taking to pass time.

Yea technically they are accepting 170 students but remember we are starting in summer and then jumping into the second year as the regular track will be staring August and in the first level. We are applying for two totally different spots but in the same application period.

Yea it seems like we have better odds with a smaller pull of applicants then the regular track does. Thank you. I think we both have a good chance getting in. I'll be praying for us! I wonder if they changed it because too many weren't able to keep up with the work load since it's fast track and shorter. I'm glad you finished all your pre reqs!

Yes that is my guess as well. How do you plan on taking your theory classes? I would prefer all online courses.

I didn't know there was an option to take them online?

Yes its on the website..N i saw an old forum on allnurses of a fasttrack student just taking online theory with in person clinicals.

Oh ok yea I saw that we test out of a few courses at first in order to move forward in the program but didn't read anything else about online theory. I've done a lot of online prior to this so I would actually prefer in class lectures just because I think I'd need the structure for nursing school but I wouldn't be totally opposed to it once I got more details on it.

Yes i understand. Nursing school wasnt the easiest the first time around n all my classes were in person. But this time around i have more kids n my life is busier. But we'll see. Are you applying to other schools? I planned on applying to El centro but heard they werent accepting any students at this time.
