So if I take the TEAS in December 2020 and need a better grade I can take it twice in 2021? It’s been a while since I went to the nursing seminar. Thanks

I am applying for Spring 2021. But I am worried if my GPA is not good enough. I have a BS in biology from Stony Brook, and an associate in liberal arts from suffolk (my GPA was high at suffolk, but when I transferred to stony it went low ? ) My prerequisite classes are OK (but my GPA not so good):
AP I -> A
PSY 101 -> A (Honors)
MAT 103 (Stats I) -> A
ENG 101 -> A
ENG 102 -> B+
HIS 102 (Western Civ) -> A (Honors)
HIS 103 (American) -> C+ (Honors)
Any of you had the simillar issue but got accepted anyway? I am so worried and in need of some hope...
Also do I have to take AP II to get in?? I am thinking about applying for it this week to increase my chances of getting in.
Thank you-thank you in advance!
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your helpful comments here. I was able to get in Spring 2021 RN program. I am really excited so I wanted to share ?
I’m seeing that alot of people are taking the “prereqs”. For those of you who got into the nursing program, can you finish before the four semesters with having taken the prereqs before getting into the actual program? Because I know all the prereqs on the rubric are all part of the nursing program. TIA!

Hi!
You don’t have to take the prerequisites before applying to the program. A few of the people in my program I know are taking microbio or history while they are taking nursing courses. However, taking the courses can significantly improve you’re possibility of getting into the program as they are worth points on the rubric. Especially if your TEAS are average, you can easily be beat out by someone with the same score but took all the prerequisites. Because of this majority of the people in my cohort either had all the classes done or only had a couple more to take.
I scored Advanced with 84% for the TEAS exam. My rubric score was a 78. And yes we do have one clinical day the first semester and I believe it bumps up to two clinical days the second semester. Best of luck to you and hope to see ya around in 2022. If you haven't taken the TEAS yet, my advice is to figure out your weak subjects for the exam and focus on them! you got this
