Fall 2016 - Scottsdale Community College

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to have a place for all Fall SCC students to meet and chat. SO excited to start school and get to know my fellow future nurses! Does anyone know what books or supplies we might need or any helpful study tools? Anyone heard about the class schedule or when we get to sign up?

I haven't heard anything yet from SCC, and I just finished doing the background check. I'm so excited and I can't wait for more information! If anybody has any new info please share! :)

Hi. I called SCC and she said they are still working on the schedule but she thinks classes are Tuesday at 8am, Labs will be either Thur or Fri at 8am and clinical will vary depending on the schedule. it is a 9hr shift starting as early as 5:30. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for sharing! So exciting! Can't wait to see our schedules! [emoji16]

There's a group on FB for the fall 2016 Scottsdale cohort. Just type that in and it should find the group to join.

Hi students,

Does anyone know how many days a week is the clinical rotation? and at which site?

Thank you!

From what I have read we have class on Tuesdays, lab on either Thur or Fri and we have clinical one day a week. You should have received an email last week with that information as well as the forms that have to be complete for our orientation May 24.

For any hopefuls! I sent in my decline letter, Good luck!

I can't be there for the orientation on May 24, I let them know that already & I'll do it on a later date. Can you do me a favor? after you go to the orientation can you tell me what the schedule will be like?

I would love to know ASAP so I can make plans with my babysitter & etc.

I especially need to know about the clinical hours. You mentioned they

can start as early as 5:30 am, were you told that by SCC or by former students?

Thank you so very much for your help!

so you're not doing nursing anymore? why?

I got into ASU's nursing school! I'm getting my BSN.

I am a current student @ Scottsdale CC, and during block one they allow you to choose the clinical site that best suits you. There are 10 different locations to choose from with some having morning clinical and some having evening clinical. If you don't choose they will place you wherever their is an opening.

The clinical may bay any day of the week (except lecture and lab days) you also have to attend a few Clinical Learning experience days at school "CLA" and those days are during the week that are not the same as your clinical day of the week. Basically you have to juggle life around the school schedule if you want to be successful.
