Nursing program
Published
Hello, I am currently a student at Suffolk county community college preparing to apply for the nursing program for fall 2021 start. I figured I would start this early since the deadline was extended to March 1st 2021. I am preparing to take the TEAS in December most of my prerequisites are finished with a grade of A and one B. If anyone has some great tips on how to score in the 80s and 90s feel free to share. I wish everyone the best of luck.
I heard we have to wait until the beginning of April until we find out ? however, I missed advanced on my TEAS by only .7 points. I’m prepared for a no on my end. But, I took my boards in December for my LPN and passed. At least I won’t have to wait until next Fall because I can always apply for the LPN-RN advanced program in the Spring ? it got really overwhelming because I had to study for my boards and I didn’t study enough for my TEAS. Maybe I studied like for 5 days and some people studied for months. Others have been rejected in the past and reapplied and got in, so I’m inspired by that to retake my TEAS and apply in the Spring.
20/24 points - coursework
2 points-first time taking TEAS
39/48- TEAS reading/math/science/English and reading comp
1 extra point for additional coursework
which leaves me at
rubric 62
TEAS 77.8% ?
I would have had an 82 for my rubric if I got like maybe 2 or 3 more questions right ? so frustrating
I also have a liberal arts and sciences degree from the Ammerman Campus and am a Suffolk resident.
Anyways, anyone that has applied before and has not gotten in that shared their story on here, thank you. Perseverance is key.

I emailed to confirm that my TEAS score and application was received and I followed up by asking when decisions would be made. The response was that letters would be send at the end of April. Which seems so far away! I am hoping it ends up being sooner.

I asked about this recently at the nursing seminar, and she said April. I'm really antsy about it too, it's like time is moving so slowly suddenly
