FALL 2021 Nursing program at Suffolk county community college

Hello, I am currently a student at Suffolk county community college preparing to apply for the nursing program for fall 2021 start. I figured I would start this early since the deadline was extended to March 1st 2021. I am preparing to take the TEAS in December most of my prerequisites are finished with a grade of A and one B. If anyone has some great tips on how to score in the 80s and 90s feel free to share. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Does anyone know the phone number of Ammerman's Nursing admission office? I called before and they gave me the number [phone] but it was an error. 

I was trying to see if they received all my required documents for my application.. Does anyone know if they email you if your application is incomplete?

Did you receive an email confirmation after submitting application and sending the TEAS transcript?

In the past I found that emailing admissions was helpful- they tend to forward the email to who it’s meant for and then you aren’t playing phone tag.

I was missing my high school transcript and they reached out to me, they sent me a letter through the mail, and they called me as well so im assuming they would reach out!!

I wish everyone applying for this fall the best of luck! As this journey is hard and a lot of sacrificing is made to get to where we want to be! I wish nothing but success and happiness to everyone! I will be applying for the evening program as I didn’t get the grade I wanted on the TEAS to apply for this round. But keep strong everyone because perseverance is key.

Hi all, 

I was thinking about getting a smaller tattoo right above my elbow... I know some nursing programs are against all visible tattoos. I was reading the handbook and there is nothing mentioned about tattoos. Does anyone know how Suffolk’s Nursing Program is with tattoos?

I’m not sure but in the profession I think views have changed as in most professions it’s more acceptable and common now. When I had my son one of the residents who was taking my sons vitals had a very visible tattoo on his forearm.

Maybe call the nursing department to ask or hold off until acceptance/orientation? You could always wear a longsleeve under your scrubs hospitals tend to be cold anyway.

Finished taking my TEAS exam today and scored a 93.3%. I think this brings my rubric score to an 82.

@cherry719 may I ask if you completed all your pre-reqs before taking the exam?  And what did you use to study for the exam? That’s such a great score ! Congratulations you are definitely getting in!
