Hello, I am currently a student at Suffolk county community college preparing to apply for the nursing program for fall 2021 start. I figured I would start this early since the deadline was extended to March 1st 2021. I am preparing to take the TEAS in December most of my prerequisites are finished with a grade of A and one B. If anyone has some great tips on how to score in the 80s and 90s feel free to share. I wish everyone the best of luck.

I will be applying for a Fall 2021 start too. I took the TEAS twice this year and my scores were average. I will say the math and science portions are straight forward. The language usage is what really got me, and I know that I need to spend more time reviewing that material. I am going to take the TEAS again next year to get a higher score. I am thinking about applying to Nassau Community College too if Suffolk doesn't work out as a way to keep options open.
Yeah they say the reading and English part is the overlooked on this test. Yeah I’m going to apply to Nassau community college as well. I’m going to take my TEAS in February 2021. Well I wish you the best of luck and hope you get accepted!

Thanks so much! I hope we both get accepted and do good on the TEAS.
Yesss and thank you! Did you take the TEAS remotely? Or did you take it at a testing site? Which one is better?

I am applying for fall 2021. I previously applied but I didn’t get in. I am retaking my TEAS hoping to score better on the science as that was my lowest score on the TEAS.
I’m sorry to hear that! I hope you get the score you want! I am taking it in early February to apply for the March 1 deadline. Did you take A&P 1 and 2 already? I haven’t so I’m learning all this new, I have been studying for the past 4 months I want to be in the 85%- 90% to be competitive.

Hey! If you don't mind, please send me a private message. I would like to know what study guide you recommend for TEAS. Thank you kindly.
I’ve purchased two study guides. The mometrix ( yellow book on Amazon) and the Kaplan ATI (purple book). I used my class notes to study mostly and the Kaplan book ( which wasn’t helpful). There’s so much to know for the science section and even though I put in the time to study so much of what I studied wasn’t relevant. I completed all classes other than the nursing ones in the program. There’s only 56 seats each fall for each campus for the RN program. So really hoping to increase my science score. I think for this time I’ll watch Youtube review videos.
Oh just an FYI Nassau’s program favors Nassau residents and Suffolk favors Suffolk residents. I applied to Nassau as a backup before knowing this. Something to think about before you spend money applying and for transcripts. I think Nassau does have more seats though so the chance might be better.

I'm going to graduate from Hunter Business School for medical assistant in April and I thought I should apply to program at Suffolk. I have so many question about apply and what I need. Like how and how long should I study for the TEAS test, can I take the TEAS in person, is Suffolk a testing site, what's like a good score to get in, and is the TEAS exam hard or alright if I study hard enough.
