Fall 2019 Nassau Community College Nursing Program

Published

Hi all! I’ve searched around & haven’t seen any threads on the Fall 2019 NCCC Nursing program applicants so I decided to start one. I would love to hear from current applicants, current/past students, family or friends of NCCC nurses. Any feedback is appreciated. Feel free to join in & let’s chat! ?

Congrats everyone! For those of you who are currently in the program or starting in the fall and working (full-time), what schedule are you/will you be working?

I will be doing the day/section A schedule because I work 2-10 mon-friday at a hospital. My supervisor is willing to let me come in an hour late on clinical days. Although working full time while going through the nursing program is difficult, it is doable. My coworker did the nursing program while working as a Nassau county police medic full time.

I've gotten into the Day section semester 2 for fall 19 I just wanted to know does anyone have any information on our autobiography. Should it be double spaced or not? And does anyone else have writer's block with it?

Congrats!! I am having writers block with this so bad, definitely over-thinking it. When is everyone's interview?

Don’t worry too much about the autobiography from what I heard the advisor reads its during your interview and its for the nursing department to get to know us. Also maybe to see a sample of our writing. I don’t think we will be graded. Just be sincere and thoughtful, don’t over think and I’m sure you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Hello, ive been trying to register for Modern American History but I cant seem to find it. Hope someone can help me

Congrats, I got into the Day section semester 2 as well ? I am DEFINITELY drawing a blank about what to write for my autobiography, honestly. And I don't know what would be a proper format for something like this.. don't worry, you're not alone! Lol

Don't stress over the autobiography its not graded. Just use 12 point font, double spaced. Mine was 2 pages and I just talked a little bit about my childhood, teen years and ended with the experience I had that made me want to be a nurse. I honestly don't think the advisor even read it she just skimmed through it while I was sitting in front of her.

Alright, thanks for your response, I'm definitely not as nervous about it anymore

Thank you so much, I definitely needed to hear that. I was thinking it'd be viewed as a Personal Statement.

I was accepted for the first semester. I am missing Stats and History. I’m currently taking/almost finished with Stats, but I was thinking of taking history this summer. What History classes did any of you take that were considered valid to move to the 2nd semester?

Hi did you ever find out what history is good for this new program?

Anyone in the evening sections hear back from ESU in regards to the cross registration requests we submitted at the interview?
