Fall 2021- Mercer / Georgia Baptist College of Nursing

Published

Hey y’all! I recently got accepted to Mercer’s pre-licensure nursing program for Fall 2021. Creating this thread so other people thinking about applying or who have been accepted can talk.

Congratulations to those who got accepted ! I am taking my TEAS again next Saturday! Any tips ? ☺️ I am super nervous for the Chemistry and math portion ?

Hi Loveitall, you can review some information on quizlet . That help me a lot .

Anyone have any idea how long is the turnaround to get a decision on acceptance to the GBCN program? I’m just getting nervous, anxious etc.

I applied the week of May 3rd and received my acceptance offer the week of May 17th. Based on my own research for Mercer, I've seen the average time be up to 4 weeks or as little as a week and a half like myself. Hopefully, you have heard back by now and its good news ?

I applied May 4th a day after you. Did they update it in the system or did they mail you a letter. Hopefully I’ll be seeing you soon.

@travelnursefuture and @Derrica Forte thank you both so much! I submit my application before the deadline on April 23 and still have to hear back. I have emailed them and was told they were waiting to receive my final transcripts from this current semester in order to look at my application. They received it last week, but finally processed it on Tuesday. So, I guess it’s safe to say any day now?!  ?? ?? Congratulations to everyone who got accepted. Hoping I’ll get to join you all soon too!

Yes I got the same thing. But that was last Friday so I’ll keep waiting. I look forward to joining you all in fall

Absolutely !

I was anxious too so I understand.

I was told because they just started the Summer ABSN program that they are a little behind/ delayed in processing applications for fall 21 but you definitely should know something soon ! Granted I was also apart of the pre ABSN program at Mercer so they had all my records/ transcripts which is probably why I was accepted a little sooner bc they didn’t have to process the transcripts/ GPA etc but I’m sure you will get in for Fall especially bc you applied well before the July deadline. I’m excited for us all !

Thank you! I’ll keep you posted.

Hey I submitted my application yesterday and I hope I hear soon. I’m freaking out my TEAS scores are not the greatest but my GPA is pretty good. I’m hoping I get in!

It’s normal to be a little anxious but just believe you’ve done your best and it’ll work out!

From what I was told they look at everything collectively not just your TEAS. If you are stronger in other areas like your GPA, personal statement and or college resume (extra curricular activities, volunteer hours, clinical experience etc.) it will balance out. My TEAS score wasn’t high either but I had a very strong personal letter, high GPA, and clinical experience and I believe that’s why I got in. Plus it helps that you submitted before the deadline.

That makes me feel a little better. I had several people look over my personal statement and got a lot of great feedback on it. I am hoping that and the fact that my sister went GBCON will make up for it. Hoping we get to be classmates this fall!
