I currently have around 79 points...as far as cut off... I'm hoping its 79 LOL!!! I know a few people that have already received their denial letter for fall 2010 semester

I took my exam on feb 6 2010

Hi tigertjc,

79 is pretty good! The people who recieved their denial letters already do you know how many points they had?? Maybe that'll help us figure out what the cut off is. thanks!

recalculated my score it was actually 84... anyhow... I dont really want to ask how many points they got on their denial letter

Tigertjc,

WOW 84 is really good! lol but ya i know some people i guess find it personal about how many points they have.. but anyhow i know some people are still taking the exam this weekend.. any advice on the vocab section?? i took mine last year so i dont remember much other than it wasnt too hard. thanks

if you didn't have trouble last time with the vocab, i doubt you'll have trouble now. I believe the difficulty of the vocab section is around the same. you'll do just fine... lets just hope and pray that the cut off score is low

Hi, Tiger!

You said the math on the CAT was easy. Was it a lot of fractions of more algebra?

I am taking the test this week and I am really nervous about the math. If you could be more specific about the math...I'd really appreciate it!

GG

basic stuff addition, subtraction, fraction (addition, subtraction, multiplication, divide), and some basic chemistry math. basic chemistry math as in:

3.2x10^-3 = .0032

pretty easy stuff don't worry about the math concentrate on the English portion. Learn how to read and comprehend paragraphs at a fast pace.

I don't think there was any intermediate algebra... maybe a question or two.

Tigertjc,

Ya i remember it being easy but i needed to know for a friend who was asking about the vocab. i took the exam last year like i said but i dont have to retake it to apply for this semester so thats good..im stress free about that aspect they just transfer my results to this application period lol but i just couldnt remember much about it other than it was easy and didnt have any advice to tell for others about the vocab lol thanks tho! o ya about the cut off...for the spring semester i know it was 79 thats why i didnt get in then cuz i only had 76 but i retook a class and got an extra point for reapplying and now im at 82 but even now im not feeling confident. if in the spring the cut off is 79 im sure the cut if has to be a FEW points higher for fall considering they always have double the amount of applicants for fall than spring!.. but ya lets just prays it stays at 79! =]

and trojina

just like tigertjc mentioned the math wasnt too complicated. for me personally the math was the only i was really worried about cuz prior to takin the exam i hadnt done math in years. but just as he mentioned it has pretty basic stuff it had addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, of whole and decimal numbers. there were a few algebra questions...fractions.. o and ya there were a few questions on percentages so you should know that too. Hope we helped!

iliana, i was wondering if you would let us all know when you get your acceptance letter, because i'm waiting for mine also. I've been checking my mailbox everyday for the past week.

Thanks, Iliana & Tiger! I appreciate your advise!!

Hey tigertjc

Thanks for your optimism!!! I hope i do in fact receive an acceptance letter and IF I DO (God willing) ill make sure to let you guys know! If i get in with 82 points then your guaranteed to be in with your 84 points!!! so my good news is your good news too lol and i really think the waiting is the worst part of the process. last application period i practically lived outside near my mailbox lolll but i knew it was bad news when my envelope finally came and it was paper thin :( but its okay now im hoping ill receive a think envelope.. i know if you get accepted they send some packets along with the letters with the information you need for the months to come. Anyhow, Hopefully if we receive our packets theyll mention where they assigned us to do our clinicals!

And trogina,

Happy i could help!
