Reast2westN~ Did you get accepted to Mount St. Mary's Accelerated BSN program? I did!! :) So...I won't be going to LA County.

Good luck to all of you...

Hi trogina. No, I'm not going to MSMC, I'm going to CSUN for their accelerated program. Congratulations on getting into MSMC though!!!! :yeah: I know you all just found out a couple of weeks ago, and I'm sure it feels good to breathe easy for the moment. I have a friend who is finishing MSMC program in August, and she said it was hard, but anything is doable for 15 months. Best of luck in your program. In about 2 months we'll be working our tails off.

Did anyone get a denial letter yet? I called and they said the next batch of letters would go out in a few days, so I'm not sure what that means for me.

femmebot,

i still havent received my letter yet either. i dont know what that means! it worries me cuz everyone has gotten theyre letter but they did say the cut off was 81 soo i should be good to go but i want my letter already! lol

Hey Iliana. I've looked all over the letter and information they sent us, and I don't see any mention of a cut off score. I'm not sure where the other person recieved that information from, but it was not contained in the letter. I'm not saying that 81 isn't the cut off, just letting you know that it wasn't stated in the acceptance letter so you may want to verify with them where they heard it from. Hope you get your letter soon!

Hey Reast,

Ya im dying to get my letter already but i did call county today and kit told me that the cut off was in fact 81 points and that letters were still being sent out!

im just confused and bummed out that i havent received anything yet! hopefully ill be joining you guys at orientation! does anybody know when it is??

Is the cut off score absolute? I thought they said when we took the exam that they look at everyone's application individually and that those of us that already have another degree or are working in healthcare will get special consideration. Or did I just imagine that? I hate being a B student:(

femmebot,

i have no idea about special consideration for those who have a previous degree or already work in healthcare. That would be nice tho if they did lower the cut off!! You should call tomorrow and ask them. Every time i call everyone is really nice i just hate calling all the time...and i hate being a B student too! if i had straight A's i wouldnt have to stress any of this stuff!!! lol but anyways let me know when you get your letter!

femmebot,

I called co. because they made a mistake on my total points. Unfortunately, I still only have 80 points. I missed the cut off by 1 point! What a bummer...:bluecry1: The counselor was very nice and said that they are waiting on the students that made it to inform them whether they will accept or decline. Then, they will go down the list. I was too nervous and concerned to ask but I should have asked what kind of chance do I have of getting in for having 80 points and how do they select who to choose when they go down the list. Really wish that I did not get those two Bs... Iliana, I am sure that you are in with over 81points. I hope that you received your letter by now. Congrats!

Does anybody know when the orientation for LA co. is scheduled?

Thanks, guys.

I called yesterday and they said they had sent it. Since my mail is being forwarded I still haven't received it. My points are in the mid 70s so I don't have high hopes for getting in at this point. Does anyone know if they keep applicants files for future semesters?

I had 80 points too. However I got a call soon after pre registration and I got in. I don't know about others. I scored maximum on the entrance exam and my science grades are high.

Jayeda 80,

Did you have any other points that you did not count on your total? When did you receive your acceptance letter? May be you have one of those 3 extra points options?? (co. employee, 100 hrs. working at the hospital and etc...) I know that they made a mistake on my total and double checked with the counselor and she said that it has been corrected. Please let me know of your situation... I need to call co. and see what is going on. When is your orientation date?

Congratulations to you for your acceptance to co!:yeah:
