I thought I would start a thread for those of us who have been accepted and are attending NH in July! I am soooo excited to get started! I will be attending the May 15th orientation. Let's all help and encourage each other as we start this crazy journey!
Rolling backpack? Do we have to bring all the books to class? Thanks for telling me about ABC in montgomery. I've driven past there a couple of times. Can you put an application in for Texas Workforce even if you don't know the hours you'll need childcare for? I wish I had some sort of schedule.
Does anyone know how much the program costs? What if you are not working can you still apply with workforce?
As long as you are in school 25 hrs a week you are qualified for it. Nursing school does qualify! Cost depends on your income. I was qualified for two years. I paid as little as $0 per month and as much as $365 per month before they decided my husband made too much.
Red hen they don't care about specific hours just how many you need. It has to be at least 25, which it will be.
I made an open FB group for those interested. I'll close it after classes start for privacy. I'm sure there will be things posted that are against allnurse policy, such as websites, professor names and such. Anyone interested please message me and I'll send you the link or just search for lscs north Harris adn 2014.
Can you message me the link? I was not able to find it on FB nor was I able to message you.
For some reason I cant message you either. Try this

I have a question about the workforce commission. Right now me and my husband both work full time jobs him making $14 and hour and me $11, can I apply now and then the workforce commission adjust the rates when I drop down to a day or two a week or what? Should I go ahead and apply now for it? I plan on applying for the scholarship and NCI for daycare for my 11 month old. Someone told me it could take up to about 6 weeks to process but I'm not sure if that was true. Any info would be great!

They will review income for both of you and decide from there if you are under the maximum allowable for your family size. Then they will decide how much you are required to pay. Any change in income must be reported within 10 days and they will adjust accordingly. If they have the funds it could take a minimum of six weeks, if not they will place you on a waiting list. The website gives a ton if info. Ask in the fb group and I'll send it to you. :-)

You would actually have to go to the location nearest to you to apply. Ask for Financial Aid. I had to complete an application and provide 6 months of pay stubs. I went to the one on 1960 near 45. There is minimal information here http://lonestar.edu/workforce-scholarships.htm as well as http://www.wrksolutions.com/jobs/occupationindemand.html
