Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

I am in the CF ADN program. $890 is about the tuition price for just the classes. Aside from that, for my first semester I spent around $2500.00+ as did most of my cohort. Books alone cost as much as all my classes. I spend about $550 on books and I bought them used. Then you have to buy a HESI package every semester which cost $250/semester. You have to buy a skills lab kit with all the stuff you’ll use trough the semester. I think that was around $200 as well. Then you have to buy white leather shoes, scrubs, a lab coat or warm up jacket if you want to stay warm because they’re pretty anal about dress code. You’re not allowed to wear any type of sweater, especially in clinicals. Then you have to buy a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. I think I spent about $150 on that.

I may have missed some things, but for the most part I think that’s pretty much it.

How long after the application deadline did you get your acceptance letter?

After realizing how many people apply vs get accepted I’m internally freaking out now.. anyone on this forum that is currently in the ADN program want to share their HESI score and location? ?

I am first semester ADN at CF. Hesi was a 95 and score was 7.8. I think the lowest score in my cohort was a 7.4.

They had alternate with a 6.9

Last year they had scores of 6.8/6.9

Well the lowest that I knew of was a 7.4 and only because it was a friend of mine. She was an alternate and got in only a couple days before orientation. Sadly 3 people didn’t show and CF doesn’t accept any alternates after orientation. We started at 50 and after orientation up until now we are at 45.

If you think about it though it's harder to get in for Spring semester because theres less spots open and same amount of applicants. We have a better chance for the fall. NH accepts 120 CF accepts 50 and then Montgomery,KW and Tomball accept about 40 each. So if you're not accepted right away you'll at least get on the waiting list. And some of those accepted are waiting to hear back from a BSN program.

Is this score from fall or spring? Because I was talking about my spring cohort. Fall you have a really good chance since there’s so many campuses open.

Fall
