Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

See idk if it’s bc I have a masters also but when I asked why it was declined, their reason for declining it was “student should have enough finances to pay” but I’m gonna apply again for the fall and put in the post-bac paper that I’m not working during nursing school. So we’ll see!

I am in the CF ADN program. $890 is about the tuition price for just the classes. Aside from that, for my first semester I spent around $2500.00+ as did most of my cohort. Books alone cost as much as all my classes. I spend about $550 on books and I bought them used. Then you have to buy a HESI package every semester which cost $250/semester. You have to buy a skills lab kit with all the stuff you’ll use trough the semester. I think that was around $200 as well. Then you have to buy white leather shoes, scrubs, a lab coat or warm up jacket if you want to stay warm because they’re pretty anal about dress code. You’re not allowed to wear any type of sweater, especially in clinicals. Then you have to buy a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. I think I spent about $150 on that.
I may have missed some things, but for the most part I think that’s pretty much it.

Great info! Thanks! What is the per semester hesi package for?

Basically it’s a package by elsiver (the same website you went through for the entrance HESI) that has a bunch of case studies and quizzes in there that you are suppose to take before an exam. They use to do it as a “testing ticket” meaning if you didn’t do the online case study before a class exam then you couldn’t take it and would get a zero. They got rid of that rule thank god! It is a requirement though and it is worth 15% of your grade. They said they require it now because over time studies have shown that students who use it score higher on exams.
Hey guys! I been counting down each day as well. I'm full of excitement and nervousness.. I check my email everyday to make sure I haven't received an email regarding mistakes on my application. I'm in the same boat with financial aid due to max time frame met. I didn't know we were able to submit a appeal, that's exciting to know so do we have to wait until that semester start to submit the appeal or should I do it now?

And i have my bachelors already! This is pretty crazy because i legit just graduated last May! Haven’t been able to find a job in my degree field! And going through this program they advise not to work because it very demanding so how am i suppose to pay bills without working or pay for school without a job! Just wow!

Yes, they’ll send it to your email a couple week after the acceptance letters go out.

How long after the acceptance letters do they give you to complete the checklist?
