Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Ik for a fact Tomball you do NOT have to make an appointment you just so up the day of the exam, however, they only like 12 ppl test at a time (12 ppl that testing day) so you have to make sure you are one of the first to get there! Ik this because Tomball is where i took my hesi at the first time, I waited to late to take it and they were the only campus that had test available!
yes you have to be a student at lonestar to take the hesi because they ask for you id number! And because you need to be a student at lonestar to get accepted into the program!
Thank you! @Nijah.Lain02 You are awesome!!

My score is 7.528 and i’m applying to Montgomery, Tomball, and NH
Hey guys, I heard with the CF ADN program you can take classes over the summer and graduate a semester early, anyone know any truth to that?
Kinda stumped as to which school to go to if accepted if that's the case cause finishing the program in a year straight sounds better than going for two years!
Does anyone have a link or know exactly how much it costs each semester for the program? My bf was just denied financial aid after trying to appeal his SAP status (he’s already hit 90 attempted credit hours from being in & out of school for last 8 years), so we are going to have to pay out of pocket for him.

Yes the CF program is a “block” curriculum, meaning you go non stop and you graduate a semester early. Definitely a plus for that campus, though it is a bit harder from what I’ve heard. You finish in a year and a half.
All the other campuses are an “integrated” curriculum, where you have Summer off. You can just google “Lone star Nursing” and it’ll show you the 2 different programs.

I am in my first semester at CF and yes, we go through the summer and it is a 18 month program. It’s not a choice, that’s just how it is. It is Lone Stars only campus that has a “block” curriculum. This means that our courses are broken down into specific subjects, so one class is all about mental health, one class is all about OB, etc. The “integrated” curriculum means that all of the subjects are merged into one as your progress through your program. Also, you don’t start clinicals until second semester at CF and everywhere else you start first semester. My friend and I started at the same time with me being at CF and her at Kingwood. As we compare our curriculum through the semester I can say that CF is much more difficult and they expect more from you as in projects and papers. I have 4 projects and 1 research paper this semester along with 12 exams (each one covers 7-13 chapters) and a bunch of skills check offs. At Kingwood they only have one project, skills check offs, exams, and documentation after clinical.
I guess it depends on how you want to go about it. I am the kind of person who likes to learn one thing at a time which is why I chose CF. It’s not hard, it’s just a lot! The nursing program isn’t for everyone and this is something that you have to really want to do! But it’s doable and it’s worth it. Also, don’t beat yourself up if you make Bs or Cs in the program. This is where a lot of people give up. I was a 4.0 student, score was 7.8 going in...so when my first exam grade was an 80 I almost cried. I have 2 small kids, study 6 hours a day, and am mainining Bs right now. This is nursing school. You have to work for it! But you can do it! Whenever you start wanting to give up just picture yourself as a nurse! It helps! Lol
Another thing to think about when choosing a campus is making sure you don’t want to transfer schools. For example, if you started in North Harris, they could let you transfer to another campus the next semester if there are spots available...which usually there is because people will drop or not be able to advance and stuff like that. If you’re at CF you’re stuck because we are the only ones with the block curriculum.
So far, I love CF and the staff.
Happy nursing:)
Greetings, fellow hopefuls! I am so glad I found this forum while searching Google for Lonestar ADN 2019 information. I applied for the ADN Basic Track for 2019. I would love to be added to the hopeful list, if possible. My first choice was Montgomery, then North Harris, then Cyfair, and finally Tomball. This is my first time applying for any nursing program. My score sheet says my score is 7.696. I am excited to begin this journey and to see what the Lord has in store for us. I look forward to getting to know you guys and wish yall the best of success!
