Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Go to the general information section and you will see health insurance is required.

I know it says that but I emailed my nursing advisor and she told me North Harris doesn’t require it.

I'd ask the nursing director for NH. I think you got bad information that could disqualify you from the program. You signed forms stating that you understand and will adhere to the nursing handbook.

I would double check that. Every program I've ever seen requires health insurance as do your clinical sites. It also states in the Lone Star Nursing Handbook (which applies to all nursing students system wide) that each student is required to hold both health and liability insurance, and the school provides the liability insurance. It's up to you to find and keep health insurance.

Double check but North Harris doesn’t require it as far as I know

Okay I’ll double check with the director.

That's insane to me lol if you get sick you're going to have a tremendous amount of medical bills since you released Lone Star of any liability

So the director for our nursing program seems to not have a email put out for us on the website. It just redirects me to an error page.

The nursing advisor's email works just fine. She's the one who told me we don't need insurance as well as two students who currently attend the program.

It's hard for me to believe either. Why other campuses but not us? I know for sure we have to get the . I'll try to reach out to the director at some point to clarify.

Anyone know where i can get my titers done for free?

I don't think there's anywhere you can go to get them for free. If you have health insurance, you can just pay your copay at your doctors office.

I talked to the advisor with NH Thursday and she said they do not require students to have medical insurance.

Anyone know how long health insurance enrollment takes? I paid my initial fee with United Health Care last night. Tomball's castle branch deadline is June 19th!

The plan you selected will have an official start date, mine is today. It should have been on one of the forms you might have clicked through on the agreement. Calling the benefits line may also shed some light. Hope this helps,

When submitting for the social security verification through Castle Branch, which document is the correct one? Seeking employment or seeking enrollment?

Seeking enrollment
