Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Yea I took pharm back in fall 2018 and I believe I had 90s+ on dosage calc tests, don’t worry it is very very simple ?

Hey guys so Cyfair sent out the orientation date and it’s Aug 22. I know somebody shared their experience from their orientation and mentioned that’s where they tell you about the books and they even assign something to read (or something like that) so how will it affect us if we’re having our 4 days before classes start? Anybody already in the program had theirs in August?

We have a second orientation in August as well. Are you sure they are not planning on doing one earlier?

I remember earlier in the forum someone talking about Orientation a week before school started. Are you in a Facebook group? Maybe some of the current students can assist. We have some in our group helping us prepare.

Which of of these books do I need?

You need an access code for evolve elsevier, a drug book to reference, dosage calculations for the math portion of class and pharmacology & nursing process as the main textbook.

I rented the math etext and bought the etext on amazon. Drug book is a must have in paper, good luck ?

I also received the email that our first orientation will be August 22nd.

Really unsure why they're squeezing us in last minute, but at least I can focus on castlebranch this month, summer class next month then orientation after that.

I got dosage calculations off amazon for 15 and EBK pharmacology and Nursing from chegg for 25

It's like the book list got duplicated for some books and there's options for others. You need the Pharmacology book, any drug guide, and a dosage calculations book.
