Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Hey Y'all, Accionursingbook sent me a message about questions on here about Montgomery's Schedule. I'm in 2nd Semester at Montgomery.

*Every year/semester changes happen. I can only speak for LSC-M*
First 3 weeks of Fall were M-F 0800-1700
-The reality is you won't be there 100% of that time but you won't get your personal schedule until basically day 1 so working during that period is difficult.

Lecture's (2) - Monday and Tuesday morning's
Lab's (2) Either Mon/Wed Afternoon or Tues/Thur Afternoon depending on clinical
Clinical (1) Wed/Thur/or Fri depending on group. No choice offered. 0600-1700
*All exams are Monday mornings - Every other week.
*Not every week will be the same schedule. You'll get a calendar day 1 which will let you know your personal schedule based upon your clinical group.
*They rec. not taking any other courses.

You have 4 days a week in The Woodlands area, year one. 3 of those days are until the late afternoon/early evening. I am 60 miles from campus. I held a part time job most of semester one but it got to be too much with my commute. I spend about 18 hrs a week commuting (ugh) and was working part time about 24 hrs. Those 40 hrs almost broke me. Without the commute I believe I could have managed a PT job the whole semester. Semester 2 doesn't have as many labs and I feel ready to work PT again.

Second year there is no lab. You're only getting 2 lectures and a clinical.

I wish everyone luck. LSC-M was my 1st choice even though it's the furthest from me.

I know it sucks, but it’s nice to hear that you are able to manage it with being that far away from campus. I’m also about 70 miles from LSC-M and they are my first choice, so that made me feel a lot better knowing that it’s possible.

Hey guys! I read that they take the highest score between AP I & AP II when applying! Just submitted my application to CF, T, NH. Hopefully my score is high enough to be accepted! Good luck guys! :)

AP II: A

ENGL 1301: A

HESI: 87.8

TOTAL: 7.545/8

Anyone wants to do a score update?

I commend you, I really don't think I could do that drive. Does the lab still apply if you take micro and pharm before the program starts?

How is your score 7.54 with HESI 87.8, and there was one girl scored 7.52 with HESI 88...?

7.512

When you put in your application it will automatically calculate your score

I dont know what the cutoff score was , but the lowest score I saw someone get accepted from was a 7.568 .

I think that might have to do with it being for spring semester and less available spots

Has anyone considered other careers in case you don't make it this next semester? I've heard so many stories of people waiting years to get in. I had thought maybe pta as a backup or go for bachelors in biology. I really don't know what else I'd do with all these science courses.
