Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

The thing with me is that I’m more of an old school pen and paper type of student but I have noticed a lot of people doing laptops in class now (like in general). Do y’all think it will make this program easier? Or does it really depend on personal preference?
I am exactly like you. I like pen and paper. But the gentleman that is in the program, I forget his handle, said yes we definitely need one. My class this semester. I know I hear a lot about laptos and printers. But I guess for projects and having the information right there and not having to wait until you get home it comes in handy. Now do we need Macbook
I have the Fitbit as my watch! Something about reaching those 10k steps really makes me feel good ?it’s affordable too! You can also check your heart rate, track your food intake/weight, activity minutes.. it even tracks your period! I love it. Oh and you can change the band for very cheap!! Lots of colors.
Mine is the skinny one.. forgot which one that was.

Definitely personal preference. I like to type my notes and I feel like having the laptop in class saves me the step of transferring written notes over to typed later. I've seen ppl writing out notes on ipads/tablets too. I personally haven't had any experience with that tho. ??♀️

Yes! I loved this method. Which is why I’m hesitant on buying a laptop but at the same time I don’t wanna show up to class and figure out I need one and have to buy it last minute.

I looked into that option. The new iPad pro (??) was pretty nice and seems to hv everything you wld need. But by the time I added everything I needed, like the keyboard and such....I felt like I might as well but the laptop because it added up quick

I think having one, even an inexpensive one, you will use at some point. I don't think it will be money wasted. I don't normally need one in my classes now. But we will be in lecture for awhile, and then lab, and clinicals. I think there are group projects and study time. So it should get some use.

If you do go with the iPad, they make cases that basically turn it into a laptop with the keyboard and everything! Also for people who can't afford or don't want to just drop the money all at once, there is a credit card you can apply for at the apple store or online.

I think it’s both! Some like to have them in class to take notes! Me? I like to hand write my notes in class them type them then highlight and make notations! But laptops are good for like following powerpoints in class but i can’t take notes in class on my lap top because I’ll get distracted! So i definitely think it’s a personal preference and how you learn best
