Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

I think also if you tell everyone who got in , they would stop calling, I would glady wait until you have a clinical site if I know I got in. I would leave you alone and I can focus on other stuff. But they want to be ale to tell people they are accepted and give them a schedule huh??

Honestly i agree! I don’t get why they can’t still send out acceptance letters while finalizing other things

She said it doesn’t mean you got in or you didn’t if you got a letter and the same if you didn’t. That’s why I’m more confused because it seems like only higher scoring people got letters

Had a counseler from montgomery call me today. She was seeing about me getting into pharmacology because I havent registered for it yet (trying to!).

She heard the director tell another student June. But she also told me it probably shouldnt take that long so we should be checking our emails everyday.

Basically nothing we already didnt know

Yes exactly!! Wouldn't it be easier in general to go ahead and send acceptance/alternative/rejection letters? Then from there they can continue on working to get an orientation date as well as set up clinical sites. They would probably be able to focus more without having all the pre-nursing students breathing down their backs. Especially since this is a crucial deciding factor for the rest of the year for many of us. I'm a bit irritated by how disorganized everything feels on our end. :(

See that’s my thing. I’ve been wondering if I should be calling or not and they sound so bothered (which I’m sure they’re getting a lot of calls) but what are we supposed to do? We can’t plan much else in our lives until then and so many things depend on this decision

I agree @aped2014, I signed up for pharm during the Summer, but if I am flat out rejected, I will wait to take it. Here we are May 1st and we could possibly be in the same boat on June 1st. :(

The whole “just keep checking your email” line is really blowing me because that is telling me they don’t know wat specific date but they know it is soon! Because if it was really going to happen in June they won’t be telling us to check out email everyday now they would just say June! So the whole start checking now is ughhhhh working my already fried nerves!!!

so the June timeline I’m not even thinking about because if it was June again they wouldnt be telling us to check our emails now and they damn sure wouldn’t be sending those emails! Mistake or not!

Those emails mean they have ppl in ranking order already seeming as though it was the ppl with 7.5 and above that got them from Tomball! Sooooo ughhhhh blah blah

sorry yall I’m frustrated

Exactly., I wanted to maybe do a mini-mester. But the deadline is May 3 that's Friday.

My thought on the clinical sites and not having acceptance/rejection letters yet is that they probably need to know how many sites they have which may change how many people they can accept. If they can't get the same number of clinical sites then they may not accept the same number of people.

She said she was looking at the list of people ranked by score that put montgomery down as 1st choice. She also stressed that just because she called me it doesnt mean im in because its the system office that handles the decision. I think getting that call is good news but im not going to count my chickens until i get that letter

Do you think they will change their number of acceptances? That would be awful. ? Now I'm really worried.
