Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone submitted an application yet? Did you receive a confirmation? I sent mine and nothing has happened.

Did you make sure you signed your score sheet ?? That’s strange I had to submit mines twice because of missing documents and I received a confirmation email from both.

I got it! I saved my app and then logged in on my phone and submitted from there! I think it was a computer issue!

I am 7.536 for CF, T

in that order. ??

Well if I have to contend with my A&P I grade of B then I'll be having to go to the backup plan...HCC. Lonestar CyFair is in my neighborhood but if I cannot get in then I have to check HCC out. I won't be looking forward to out-of-district tuition or the commute, but it's that or wait for Spring 2020 at CyFair. That would have me finishing about June 2021 instead of December 2020 if I were starting CyFair this Fall.

Are you taking a fast track A&P course? Because if you finish it before the application deadline then aim for that A! I retook it last semester so I could get an A as well (previously got B in both A&P 1 & 2) and it was a lot easier. If you plan on HCC as a backup, be sure you know their requirements and deadlines, etc. It’s a tough program so just make sure you’re absolutely comfortable with managing your commute and the expenses. That’s my advice.

Thanks, Nancy. I am really trying for an A. I get it I'm gonna be very VERY happy. If anyone is reading this I also want to know if there is a study schedule for the HESI if I have a month and have only the 4th edition of the Elsevier book from which to study. Like most schools (I guess), the sections we're tested on are Math, Reading, Grammar, A&P, Vocabulary and Critical Thinking. I really want in at CyFair but I also hear it's the most difficult to get into.

This is your friendly reminder to make sure you upload all your documents correctly, even if it says "uploaded" next to your document. Perhaps email the Nursing Department to have them make sure your documents are correct.

It was this time last year that I applied for Fall 2018, only to be told on Acceptance Day that I was denied because my uploaded FERPA form was blank. To this day, I don't know how that could have been possible because I still have the signed, saved copy on my computer. I also had been in contact with them before the application deadline and nobody caught it.

So just QUADRUPLE check. The littlest thing could ruin your application!

I totally agree, that happen to me before as well but they caught and actually emailed me to let me know, but don't count on that, check, check, and check again.

What did you score in English?

English1 B , english 2 A

B Fernandez

AP 1 A which gave 16 points

Engl 1 B which gave 9

Total is 25 ÷ 7 = 3.57

HESI 88 ÷ 25 = 3.52

Added up is 7.09

(I think)
