FALL 2020 Johns Hopkins MSN: Entry into Nursing

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I'm currently preparing to apply to JHSON MSN: Entry into nursing program for fall 2020. I was wondering anyone has an idea what the acceptance criteria is?

I have a very good gpa in undergrad (3.92) so the admissions team told me I do not need to include GRE scores.

Also how many words should our essays be?

Best of Luck!

Guess so.. who knows anymore. LOL. I’m Impatiently waiting..

At least my anxiety has slightly lessened. Every time I get emails from AllNurses I assume it’s everyone saying they have been accepted. I emailed admissions today and I was told “by the end of the month” even after being told “within the first week and a half” in that same email thread. Hopefully we don’t have to wait much longer so I can go back to worrying if I have enough toilet paper LOL.

No seriously LOL. Did you guys apply any other place?

@lomindy1 I applied to a few ABSN programs but won’t hear back until late April/May. This is the only entry-MSN program I have applied to.

I applied to UMSON MSN CNL program and got an acceptance a week and a half ago. They give you two weeks to accept it, but I've been waiting for hopkins in case I get a good scholarship. But at this point, I think I have to accept Maryland without knowing because my time is up by Friday. It doesn't seem like Hopkins will have answers by then ?

You can accept UMSON and later withdraw. I'm sure they have a waitlist. I gave up at CSU East Bay's Spring 2020 cohort for JHU. You can undo commitment to admission, but cannot undo a rejection.

This. The admissions lady who picked up was annoyed and exasperated by my questions, but when you articulate a deadline, people expect to hear by "early March."

Exactly. And whatever decision you make, you can't back out of it because these schools make you pay a $400 to $500 deposit upon acceptance of an offer.

100%. Sorry you're in that predicament, @MaryBethEis. FWIW, at least you have options ?

So I participated in the Virtual Chat session and faculty from admissions claim they should have all the acceptance letters sent out by the end of this week (and that was stated quite a few times). Also as a heads up, any one that is accepted and interested will be required to submit the deposit by April 15th.

Does this include those who applied after the January deadline?

@Emilee Cheam yes. The deposit is $500 if you didn’t know.
