Published

Hi, I will be applying to hcc for fall 2020. My stats are:

overall gpa- 3.35

pre req gpa-3.5

teas- 75%

Do I have a chance of getting into the program for the fall term?

Specializes in nursing.

No I still need micro and A&P II which I’m scheduled to take this Summer/fall. ’ll be applying by May 2021 for fall 2021

Thank you, have you applied as well?

Oh okay, someone mentioned that they arent accepting the usual number of students, does that mean they will be accepting more students or less than usual?

Specializes in Marketing/communications/Science.

I applied with prerequisite GPA 3.58 And overall 3.57. Good luck everyone!

Best of luck to you I have applied with a 3.51 GPA 3.65 overall.

Hi everyone!

I just found this page, and submitted my application for Fall 2020 via mail 2 weeks ago. I was reading that you need to send it by email due to HCC being closed but I received my confirmation receipt that they received my packet this week. I'm assuming someone is still going to pick them up from campus just incase some people didn't get the message of sending it by email. I applied with...

Pre-req GPA- 3.71

Overall- 3.69

I never got a chance to take the TEAS so was happy when they waived it! I never heard that they are accepting less people this semester does anyone have any more information about that?

I would think that they would take more people since Nurses are in high demand.

Just submitted my application for Fall 2020.

Prereq GPA 3.7

Overall GPA 3.8

Now it feels like a lifetime to wait! Good luck everyone!

Thanks Beautiful <3

Oh really ... they aren’t accepting the same number of ppl. Do you know why?

due to the covid situation there may be limited clinical sites since students use PPE as well and stuff

Currently all clinicals are being done virtually not in the hospital, I have not heard from a reliable source that they are accepting less students. I believe this is just a rumor that is not true, I've emailed admissions waiting for a response.

Is there anyone applying with ~3.0 GPA? My pre-req GPA and overall GPA are are around 3.01. I’m finishing up my bachelors in health science right now at USF and will be submitting my nursing application to HCC as soon as grades are posted. I’m interested in the HCC/USF concurrent program, but I’ve applied to nursing schools all around FL. I’m just super nervous because my GPA isn’t as great as everyone else’s. Does anybody have recommendations for other nursing schools in the Tampa/St. Pete area?

Hey I can't really answer your questions, but I am also a USF student finishing up my bachelors degree in health sciences. I have all of my pre-reqs completed already and I'm just finishing up the last courses that I need for my degree. Final grades aren't posted until May 15th and then you have to have transcripts sent and it takes two days to process the request. But, on the application it says all transcripts must be received before the application deadline. So if that's the case, then the transcripts won't be received until after the application deadline which isn't allowed. I email HCC admissions and am waiting for a response to see whether or not I should just submit my applications and transcripts now (although it won't include the grades for the classes that I'm currently in). I'll update you with a response once I get an email back, but I just saw that you're in the same position that I'm in where you're waiting to submit transcripts and an application until grades are posted, and I don't want you to miss out on having a chance if your transcripts are received after the deadline date.

I am also applying to the PHSC nursing program (but the TEAS test requirement is not being suspended for this application cycle).
