Fall 2013 FSCJ Nursing Student Hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone! Wanted to go ahead and start a thread for our group. I've been following the spring and summer 2013 group a little and figured it might be a good idea to get focused for the fall 2013 group. I've completed all my prerequisites and took my NAT test. Got a 107 on the test and I'm sitting at a 93 will all the prerequisites. So I'm going into the application process with a 203. Does anyone know what the general cut off is? I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure everyone else is too. The only thing I haven't completed is the CPR. I read once that this can be done after acceptance into the program...is that true? Thanks everyone! Can't wait to start chatting!

Hello everyone. All students accepted into Fall 2013 semester, a Facebook page has been created to stay up to date. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1392564207629276/?refid=18

Jencarlie, I ordered the Littmann cardiology III stethoscope from steeles.com. I got it for $138 and paid $10 to have engraved. Layne 3, i ordered my blood pressure from allheart.com. However, it was $17. Yours was a little cheaper. Livinthedream , wow, good thing you didnt get the shots. That's scary that we can mess up on the littlest thing and not get in the fall. I should have everything done and handed in by end of week. Had TB test today and go back thursday to have read and pick up all my paperwork. Layne3, I believe you said the tops were not as big as Meridys states. I am a size 18 and was going to order an XL but did you say they were snug? Only thing I have left to do is get skills kit and order uniforms and polos. Can't wait til August 8th and 9th.....

If you're a true 18, I would suggest ordering the 2X.

Also, I've heard that the folks who sell the polos will be at orientation. I don't plan to order/pay the delivery fee for mine.

I went with the Littman Cardiology III as well, ordered from medisave.net there is a 5% coupon code through their Facebook page, I paid $162 for the stethoscope (w/engraving) and bp cuff including shipping...

Also I ordered my uniform tops and lab coat and totally forgot to order the name tag- grrr it wasn't on the order form instructions but is listed on a different page so FYI on that. Planning on just buying pants and shoes somewhere where I can try them on.

Re: Uniforms/ I am a small 16 and ordered an XL top thinking I'd have plenty of room in there to move around seeing as how Meridy's website claims their tops run big. Well, that isn't my experience and the top is, in fact, SNUG. I will need to return it for a 2X. I went to the uniform outlet over on Beach/University and picked up some inexpensive white pants for $14 that fit nicely.

Thank you so much. I was wondering where to go for pants.

I just scheduled an appointment for testing for the scholarship through worksource. Does anyone have information on this? What does it involve and how long is the test? My appointment is monday. Thanks

I took the worksource assessment tests last week. They are general appetites test on math, reading and finding information on charts/graphs. They were very easy but they take about 3 hours to complete. Good luck!

I went and had my titers done today and they said it would be 7-10 days for the results. I don't have 7-10 days :(

Where did you have them done at ?

At the Naval Hospital. I think I worked it out though :)

Does anyone know what classes specifically well be taking 1st semester? I know we don't have times but do we know what they are? One of my scholarships needs to know soon so I can't wait until orientation.

Hi All! Question about Worksource. Can you still qualify if you are a full-time student with no previous work history?
