Fall 2019 Austin Community College ADN applicants (ACC)

Published

Hi ACC prospects! I figured I would start a thread for all of us applying to the ACC adn Fall 2019 semester. I am taking my HESI tomorrow morning. Anyone else out there?

Anyone have any update on when we'll hear?? I also applied for the Fall 2019 ADN program. I didnt receive a petition of the 14th but I called and said those were only sent to reapplicants. Anyone else have any clarity?? It's been super confusing an not much info!

I took the hesi there this morning and she said that she would be sending another round mid to late January for the second 8 week session. I believe they'll add a summer skills class too.

I hope they'll be emailing everyone to let them know. Thanks for the update!

I don't think first time applicants will get a petition until late January or early February and probably won't get an acceptance letter until late May or early June. I don't know how I'm going to survive that long without knowing!

I talked with Cindy and she said as much. The waiting is going to be terrible! :)

I’ll be hopefully applying at the end of the year for fall 2020! I’m so excited! I will be taking Pharm with Bishop at ACC this semester. What study guide did y’all use for the HESI?!

Pharm was a lot of fun, but hard work too!

I used this Study Guide and also some of ACC's resources online. HESI Admission Assessment.

My advice is to take the HESI as early as they will let you and as soon as you are prepared, so you can retake any sections you miss before the deadline is up.

I'll be a tutor for dosage calculations at Eastview if you need help. :)

Hey everyone, I got a petition for nursing skills today! Who else got one?

Congratulations!! The petition process is really confusing to me! Do you get to choose the nursing skills section? Or did they assign you a set class time?

And is the petition a sign that you will more than likely be accepted upon passing the course?

They did send me a couple of different sessions to choose from, so you do get to pick. They say the petition into nursing skills isn't acceptance into the fall program, but so far everyone I know who passed nursing skills has been accepted into the next program. Fingers crossed!

I got one too! The classes filled up so fast I had to take RNSG 1105 on Cypress Creek Campus instead of Eastview! I hope the instructors are good there. I'm getting my hopes up of getting into the program now, I can't help it! So excited!
