Didn't see a thread posted yet for the 2020 Fairfield University CRNA cohort so thought I would start one! Just submitted application: 3 years CVICU (42 beds) and 2 years Neurosurgical/Neurotrauma ICU (16 beds) experience, CCRN, Cumulative GPA 3.64, Nursing GPA (let's skip this one LOL), and lots of committee work. Good luck to everyone!!
Hey everyone,
Congrats on your interview if you received an invite. I spoke with ms.lynch (dr.moribers assistant) and she informed me that we will be receiving articles several days ahead of our interview to write about in lieu of the GREs. Lunch will be provided and that the day will be spent at the school. If anyone has any other tidbits they want to share, it is always appreciated!

Hello! Long story short there is no “one size fits all” approach to preparing for the interview/essay.
When selected for an interview they’ll let you know what they want you to write about. This was the first year they had a writing portion for the interview and I’m not sure if it will be done the same way. I know some applicants tried to preemptively write and then memorize their essay - some were accepted, some were not.
My best advice (for all programs) is know why you want to do this, know how to articulate it. Also understand how your clinical experience will make you a good candidate. Finally, over prepare for interview(s). There are multiple good question banks online to prepare for interviews. Go through them, understand and learn the answers to the questions - you may not need them for an interview but it will help with your confidence and make you a better bedside nurse (which will also help with your confidence and also better prepare you).
