Hi,

I am thinking of applying to Fairfield's Accelerated BSN too. I am currently a senior undergrad and will be graduating this year, but have not heard much info about Fairfield's program. I looked at the pre-req's and was wondering where the two of you took your Ethics and Religion courses?

I am looking at other programs and it is tough to match every program's pre-reqs. Currently looking at summer options for these two courses.

Any info on the courses & program will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Heyy!

So ethics was a requirement for my undergrad so I had that one covered. And right now I am taking world religions online from middle sex community college. They will probably offer it in the summer as well!

The orientation is April 13 so I'll have more Information about the program then! All I know now is its about 42 students and its 14 months long June-Aug

Hope that helps :)

hi! i never took ethics in my undergrad so i am taking it currently at my local community college and religions course i am going to start online at university of Phoenix on 3/29 its only 5 weeks! when i met with one of the faculty she told me there's a website where you can just take a test to get the 3 credits, if you have no time, but obviously its studying for a semester in one test so might be tough!

Hi, I'm currently in the program and have been lurking on these forums so thought I'd register to respond to this.

Our group is finishing up in August and it's crazy how it went full circle. I remember being in the orientation with complete strangers and now I know every single person's name and it's like family. It's a good program, and the people there clearly advocate for us. It's going to start off slow dealing with basic stuff (but it picks up quickly), and everybody is going to be freaking out about the first exam. But you get used to it, even if you don't have a medical background. Right now things are kind of crazy, but it's 100% manageable. You aren't going to be a perfect student in the program either. There's times you'll have an exam coming up that you didn't study enough for, or maybe you didn't take an organized approach but you still learned. If I learned anything about this program it's that the right way always changes and as long as you can adapt and pick up the slack you'll be fine.

I'm bummed out I couldn't make the student panel in the orientation due to work. Especially since I've been in touch with someone from the class before mine, who was part of the previous year's panel. Anywho, feel free to message me if you guys have any questions down the line.

Thanks for the input :) Orientation was great I can't wait to start!!

Hello!

I was hoping to receive more information about the admission process. I know that the deadline is November 1, and I was wondering if we are still encouraged to apply even if we are in the process of completing some prerequisites. I will graduate from UConn next May, and therefore will have completed all prerequisites. But, because the admission deadline is November, I am not sure what to do. Also, how competitive do you think the admission process is?

As far as I know, all prerequisites should be done before enrolling, so you should be fine. I suggest you have the science prerequisites (ie A&P, Micro, Chemistry) done before then if possible. You may be able to meet some of them with CLEP or Excelsior challenge exams if you want to save some time.

The program has a very good reputation and my sense is that admission is reasonably competitive, but holistic.
