How can the computer determine after only 75 questions a person is below the passing standard with 95% accuracy? I just don't get why it would not keep going?

Had my exam today, stopped at 75...when i saw the blue screen i went numb.
My belief was that as long as it kept going i was still in the game, was so dissapointed when it stopped cos im sure i failed.I know most want only 75 questions but you must be really smart to pass with that amount.I unfortunately am not.
hope to be a nurse

I'm doing the Kaplan Review class and they told us you "only" need to answer 10 or 11 (!) Questions right in a row and you passed already!!!!
Thats unbelievable! Then, most of the time the computer will shut off at 75 questions! Thats really not bad I think and gives you much hope!

You can't tell pass/fail strictly from the number of questions but, more often than not, 75 = good news.
