Find another school where you can start back in nursing. Or reenter the current school by applying again. Or start lower on the ladder and work your way back up. Don't give up if it is really want you want.

Also, see if you would be allowed to sit for NCLEX-PN. Many states allow RN students to challenge the PN exam if they have one semester left. And, maybe you can enter an LPN to RN bridge program to complete your dream to being an RN. Good luck and sorry to hear this. I know that being that close is frustrating.

Focus on courses that will help you master the English language. You must be able to communicate effectively in order to be a safe nurse.

You have a couple of options. First, I believe you should focus on improving your English language writing skills. You can be very knowledgeable in nursing but if you dont have communication skills, both written and oral, you will not be able to excell in nursing. You will face this problem in whatever route you do decide to take.

In addition to what has been said, you can apply the courses you have taken towards another degree program. Finish another degree program or prerequisite, then apply into nursing as a 2nd degree student. Alternatively, you can change schools and apply the courses you are taking at the school you change to

Here are some lessons leaned the hard way from myself or I witnessed from others:

1. Learn to communicate effectively. Look back at your email, you will see many mistakes. Being a nurse entails you to pay attention to detail even if it seems trivial like posting this on Allnurses.

2. I like quotes from famous people. I have one from Winston Churchill on my icebox which states:

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP. When I am feeling less than educated I try and remember this saying. If nursing is your goal then do it no matter what. I was in my late 40's when I went back to get my BSN. I had to go out of state, live in an apartment for 16 months away from my husband and family. I wanted to give up at times but I never did. My background is Health Care Aministration I did not come from an ADN to BSN program.

I will share something else with you:

I dropped out of school at age 14, lied about my age and worked as an aid in a nursing home way back when we tied people down. One class at a time and you will be closer to your goal. If I can do this anyone can. It is never to late.

3. Members who have given you advice about reapplying or attending a different school are spot on. I was through with Graduate school 10 years when I decided I do not want to be a Nursing Home Administrator I want to be a nurse.

4. I would recommend this profession to anyone who has the heart and the brain capacity to think on your feet.

Good luck with your decision to forge ahead with any continuing education, it will only enhance your life.

Thank you all for response. I really appreciate it.
