failed twice now!!! help!

Published

Hi everyone. I took NCLEX RN in March and got 188 questions and failed. I felt like I didn't know anything!! It was a horrible feeling to see the word "fail." But after a week I put it behind me. I studied everyday for two hours, focusing on the areas I needed to improve on. I just took the test on Tuesday. I went in with a lot of confidence and relaxation. The questions seemed too easy and I got like 5 SATAs. The computer shut off at 77. I felt thrilled after the test thinking I knew I passed. Today I checked the quick results and saw the word "fail" once again.... I feel so depressed and confused!! Any words of wisdom?

Did you use different study methods the 2nd time? I'm currently waiting for results from my 2nd time around. I felt a little better, but not overall assured. I used different study material the 2nd time. Guess we'll wait and see. How long do you have to wait between tests? Do you have a limited number of times you can take the test?

Sometimes focussing on areas highlighted in the breakdown means other areas get missed. I would suggest setting a new study plan and study as if you haven't sat the test before. Practice questions and make sure you understand what is being asked. Read the rationale even if right will either confirm your reasons for choosing the answer or point you in the right direction. Will also break down the question making it clearer what the question is really asking.

What ever you do DO NOT GIVE UP and good luck for next time

Just put those tests behind you and clear your mind before you begin to prepare again. And don't give up. You can do this.
