So, just got my results, failed for the third time... really really sucks. I thought I did everything I could but still no go. Really depressed and let down that I now have to tell everybody that loves and cares about me and my coworkers that I still can't pass this test. So round 4 will be coming in the not so near future. What all do you have to do to get on the suzanne plan? Thanks for any comments....
Good night,
First I want to thank God for helping me. I took nclex 3 times and failed, I took it for the 4th time and just found out yesterday that i passed. What I found to be most helpful was a list of things...
1) I bought Exam Cram written by pearson vue the same nclex people, download the cd you have to follow the cd direct......... when you put the cd in take 2 practice text they said 3x but take it 2x then the computer will automatically record your weak and your strong areas just like nclex does. Then go to adaptive section take all the questions in adaptive area until the 75%, 85% and 95% bar fill up it covered all the nclex areas....its going to test your weakest areas and go over your strongest areas as well (dont be surprise if you get repeated questions just do them like it is the first time you seeing the questions this will give you more practice and also reinforce your knowlege.) Then move on to the stimulating exam this is exactly like the nclex it testes your knowlege base upon the difficulities of questions. ( it drops if you answer the question wrong and the questions get harder if you answer them right.) If you are not doing well the exam will cut you off and you fail. If you are doing well the exam will continue and you pass. Practice becomes perfect...its not how smart you are but how you develop your critical thinking......
2) I went to a review class but that didnt help me. The next tool that helped me was the NCSBn website http://www.learningext.com/products/rnreview/review.asp which was recommened by the review class. I spent $50 for 3 weeks . I did all the question bank and the post test.....Dont read the book from back to front all at once ( I did, bad idea you dont remember a thing after you are finish.) if you dont understand a question that is when you return to your nclex book (saunders 4th edition) or if your want it simple (exam cram) to review the material that you are uncertain of... The same people who create the nclex exam create this review websit. The questions look similar so if you review everything even though the questions are not the same it seems as if your at your own computer at home rationalizing questions.. It covers every area.
3. I used allnurses.com "The random fact throwing" they have loads of information, creat thread on "Infection control". Thanks to all the people in allnurses that come who share their information great source.......
4. I went to my doctor and he prescribed me some xanex thats puppy helped me the most with anxiety. I was so calm that even the examiners recommended me. For some reason nclex challenged me mentally, physically, emotionally but I sat there very calm telling my self this was the last time they are going to treat me like this........ if you pass 75 questions dont panic that means you are in the game you are doing something right but not good enough just sit there and take every other question like its the first question...(DONT GIVE UP THAT WHEN THEY GET YOU.....) BE MENTALLY PREPARED FOR THEM TO TAKE YOU ALL THE WAY IF THEY STOP AT 75 THAT MEAN YOU ARE DOING EXCELLENT AND GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE, BUT IF THE BEAST NCLEX WANT TO TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE SADDLE UP AND GO NECK TO NECK WITH THE BEAST DONT GIVE UP OR GIVE IN UNTIL YOU SEE THE COMPUTER GO BLANK. TRUST ME YOU WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!!!
Finally, prayer....
I know my story is long but if i can help another person Im willing.

I too, have failed the RN NCLEX for the third time. I took the PN exam and passed..thank GOD! I just finished Tip 1 for Suzanne's Plan and hope to hear from her soon so that I may start the rest of her plan to pass the RN NCLEX when I take it the 4th time. It can be discouraging, but I keep pressing on......:prdnrs:Here's to those of us who don't give up!

GOOD NIGHT
JAMERICANRN )
Hi there. I am just amazed on how strong you are inspite that failed many times for that nclex rn. You are very strong person and I hope I can be like that. I am taking my nclex rn on June 3rd. IThis will be my second time. feel like I'm so tired studying that for this week I cant get myself into studying. I dont feel motivated.... I guess maybe I was burned out reviewing for 8 hours a day last week. I cant even finish the 4 subjects on the hurst review content. I'm so distracted with my environment. Having 2 toddlers running around you plus a husband who sometimes get me crazy with all the things that has to be done in the house. I feel like "I DONT CARE ANYMORE ABOUT THE NCLEX RN" I hate it! I'm so tired of studying, and I hate myself for I am not motivated. I'm going back to work soon and I haven't fullfill my goal to pass the NCLEX RN when I come back to work. I hate the people on my job coz they treated you as stupid and even betting if I pass my exam....
I just pray to the Lord.... I keep on trying to forget the distractions, but sometimes when I feel down, Im just cant get into studying... I dont want to have another nervous breakdown....
I really need your prayers... I know God will make a way... Thanks for reading this...
So sorry to hear this. I too just found out that I failed my NCLEX-RN test for the 3rd time. What a heart-sinking feeling. It hurts and no one understands the pain unless you've failed. We CAN do this though! I hope to retest in July and pass on the 4th try. My problem is severe test anxiety which I am currently seeking help. I am not going to stop studying but I do think that 90% of my problem is test anxiety. Hope you pass the 4th time and keep us posted!! :heartbeat
I failed the RN NCLEX 3 times as well. I too have really bad text anxiety. So what I did was I took the LPN NCLEX (because my student loans were about to kick in and I needed to work). I went to school to be an RN, but was able to test for the LPN because I had met the competencies. So I took it and passed. I got a job as an LPN in a nursing home. Then I began an NCLEX-RN prep program called "Suzanne's Plan". I found out through AllNurses.com This study program takes about a couple of months to complete but it is sooo worth it! I passed on the 4th time! The creator of this program knows what she is talking about! (and it is FREE!!) The best advice I can give you is look into this program and take your time. Best of luck to you
