Okay I have no idea what to do next besides take the practice tests. But so far I'm no longer with the nursing department at the community college I went to before...So..I'm not so sure if I pass that test...Do I go back to the school I went to before? What would be the point of taking the TEAs if I'm not with a school? I'm wondering what I should do next?? Should I find another school with a bridge program? That doesn't have teas V requirements? Does anyone know? Change my major? Look for a part time job? I feel like I should be doing something more productive with my time besides watching reruns of movies...

What part are you having difficulty with? Usually they give you each section's overall score. I would go to the local high school and ask if there are tutors available, as the TEAS test is a test of general education. There are a number of seniors who are part of an honor society that have to do "X" amounts of community service. Speak with the high school guidance counselor. Another thought is to take some GED prep courses--if you know that you are not a great math person, english, whatever it is then maybe a GED prep course could help you.
Sometimes, local community colleges also have test prep courses. Or see if you can start a study group for those seeking to take the TEAS test.
Good luck in your endevours!

If you have failed the TEAS test twice then maybe this isn't for you. Not being disrespectful but that is a basic test. The NCLEX can't even be compared to TEAS. I think this may be part of the reason some folks take the NCLEX 3+ times to pass.

What is your GPA? According to many posts on the pre-nursing forum, people are worrying about getting into nursing school with 3.5-3.7 GPAs. Most people have TEAS scores in the mid 70s to be competitive. You need to take an honest look at yourself. Do you have a very good GPA? Did you really study hard for the TEAS and put in your best effort? You have taken the test twice. You knew from the ATI manual and taking it the first time what the test questions were going to ask of you. If you struggled the second time, then you probably need to face reality. Nursing school is very difficult, especially for someone without any healthcare background. It requires you to comprehend and apply large amounts of material every week, increasing in complexity throughout the program.

I am a straight A student and work in dialysis. I have failed the teas 4 yes FOUR times now. I will be taking it one more time with the Ativan my doctor prescribed me. I have severe test anxiety and choke every time. Maybe some previous posters are correct, or maybe you need to change your study habits. I know The material, I just panic. Take the pp comments with a grain of salt. If you want it bad enough, keep trying. Also, this is quite embarrassing for me to admit but I figured it would maybe help you a little. Lol

Keep taking the practice tests and studying the ATI book, if you really want to be a nurse then work for it. Good things come when you put forth your best effort .

I thank you for posting this it gives me insight and hope. I also have to say for the negative "I mean no disrespect" comment, the Teas test has very little if anything to actually do with nursing. I don't see how putting a comma in the right place, or knowing the FOIL method or even some of the chemistry questions have to do with nursing. The OP shouldn't give up, maybe this person has test anxiety or if not, sometimes I would think and hope, persistance will pay off.

I agree with you @Aaic 100%. If you want it bad enough just keep fighting and study harder and smarter. I don't like when people come on here and say, "Well maybe nursing isn't for you, if you can't pass the TEAS then I can't even imagine the NCLEX." How about encouraging people, giving them pointers and giving them hope. People also have to consider that not everyone's life is in order and you may have other stresses in your life and it's affecting your performance on the test after all a lot is riding on the test, so you do go in with a lot if anxiety. Sometimes it's realizing that maybe it's not the right timing, which is hard to do. Fight for what you want, don't listen to the people who put you down.

I don't think you can judge people based on a test score. I met a student who passed his Teas test just to fail his CNA certification and had to repeat the semester for that. He was cocky and arrogant and thought he is better than the rest, then when he was back to repeat CNA course a second semester people were not very kind to him because he made fun of people who did not pass their Teas tests. You never know in life what will come so rather than make a judgment and label people unfit and "nursing isn't for you" type of thing give them a word of encouragement. Teas test was put in place in 2008 and I know plenty of nurses who tell me they will not be able to pass the Teas today if they had to take it. A good nurse is not always the student who gets straight A's but once in Nursing school inserts stomach pump all the way to the pubic region because she doesn't know how far the stomach is, and that person passed his/her Anatomy and Physiology with an A and had a high sore on his/her Teas., and many students pass the Teas in the first try and gets through nursing school and then once a nurse treats patients rudely and is there only for the paycheck. Getting grades and passing test doesn't make anybody a compassionate nurse. Going through life struggling and working hard and learning to love yourself and others makes you be a great nurse. because when you get your RN degree you are ready to love people, because you fought hard and you went through many battles and you can relate to your patients, they are no longer just your patients.A great nurse is a human being who no-matter the obstacles doesn't give up, keeps pushing forward and when one door closes looks for another that will open. So many great nurses out there would not be nurses if they listen to 13 by Mom to 4. Excuse me but you're going to have some setback and wish you were kinder to people, because you have no right to label people as unfit based on a test score and I met a nurse who took the Nclex 3 times before she passed. Don't limit people and don't tell them they're not fit to be a nurse. Teas test is constantly changing and the Teas test book is not the greatest tool to prepare lots of students for the Teas as it doesn't include a wide range of material that the Teas actually test people on.
