I just failed my first semester fundamentals class. I will have to sit out summer semester and retake the semester in the fall. Does anyone have study tips they would like to share? Websites with helpful info? My hardest part was the critical thinking questions. Thanks everyone.

I just finished my last fundamentals test with a 92% you have to study way in advanced for the test don't cram. Also I found it very helpful to review A&P material while studying to get a better idea of why your doing things, for example with fluid and electrolytes. What me and my study group did was take all the material and make study guides. I would then review the study guide until I had it all memorized. I also mad note cards of the most important information, or things we needed to memorize like lab values. As far as critical thinking goes, do nclex review questions before taking the exam. Also, breath and take your time. Look at the question and try to determine why the answer you chose would be the best. Best of luck to you.

Fundamentals was the easiest class I have had so far. You will definitely need to take a step back and see what you are doing wrong. Get an NCLEX prep book, apps, etc and do practice questions because this is the best way to start learning the way nursing schools test.
I put away 2 hours a day and sit down with absolutely no distractions and study. Record the lectures and read the book. Use your NCLEX prep book as a supplement to study whatever subject you are on in class.
