Failed RN school, challenging LPN boards

Nursing Students NCLEX

Taking the NCLEX PN tomorrow! I'm so nervous. I've read every page in the Saunders guide, and feel like I don't know enough, or am not prepared. Any last minute words?

hi mommy of three :)

if you did that much studying im sure that you'll pass. whenever you go in to take your test , just relax....relax....don't be too anxious, it's just like taking one of the practice test at home or your school. i just passed 9-13-07. and everyone in my class has passed, i'm sure that you will do well. as a matter of fact, me and my friend would laugh becausee the practice test that i would take, i usually made an f the first couple of times, then i would graduate to a d after i would recognize some of the same questions coming around. when i took the nclex, i was still only at a d level, as far as the saunders study cd. you will do great!!!! keep us posted

I wish you the best of luck and prayers. Stay calm remember what comes first. ABC's, assess before action, physiological then safety.....stuff like that.

hi betterme29,

yea, i would take those test on cd format and would do kind of bad :) but i would also take some of the test at the end of the the chapters and do pretty good a's / b's. i also did good on the ati practice test. the saunder's questions on cd format were more difficult. but i would say that it made me study them harder although i was still at a d level when i took the test, cause quite a few of those harder questions were on the nclex.

i almost forgot i wish you both luck, im sure that you will pass. saying a lil' prayer for you after i send this :) it's so funny cause before i started the nclex i said a prayer for everyone in the room and i didnt even know those people, but i knew that we all needed it :)

Thanks, I had 85 questions, so I really don't know how I did. I kinda wish I had more, lol. We shall see!

85 questions....That could be really good or bad. With knowing your history of studying I'm more than sure that you did extremely well. I just talked to a friend from school today, that also had 85 questions on 9-18-07. He just found out today that he passed. And another friend that i took it with had 85 questions and she passed. I on the other hand had 96 questions. I guess i needed more answers to prove my self :) Again i'm sure that you passed. I'll just tell jou now -- welcome new nurse!!!!! --

Just to clear up a few misconceptions here:

You are challenging the PN exam, you are not given permission to sit for it if you have not met the educational requirements that are needed to be able to sit for it, meaning that you have completed the required hours in an approved school of nursing. The only ones that can actually challenge the PN exam are those that were medical corpsmen in the service for three years and that is only for CA and VA. No others permit it.

Best of luck on your exam.

ok, well I took the test anyhow. Every RN from our director to the person on the board called it "challenging". Thanks for the info.

I Passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
