I am a retaker of tests 3 and 5. I am really disappointed and sad because I didn't see my name in the list of passers. Now I don't know what's the next step to take. Should I take the December Board again? I'm really stressed out right now. I really can't think of any solution to my dilemma. Next week I will be taking my NCLEX. I'm losing hope of passing that exam and I'm just so lost. Anybody out there who has the same problem? Thanks and congrats to all passers...

Don't loose hope. This is the board exams we are talking about and passing rate for health care related board exams are always below 50%. Other board exams like the BAR exams for lawyers even have lower rates than 40% at times, if I'm not mistaken.
This means that majority of takers will only pass the local boards on their 2nd or 3rd try. In addition, passing the boards on the 1st try doesn't mean a thing.
Just re-take the exam. Since you already availed of the special one-time re-take, you have to waive your license now to be able to re-take the whole thing.
Try to cheer-up. You are not alone. This happens all the time on any type of local board exam.

hi! I,m also one of the 4,000 plus who failed the retake. I don't know how to react upon failing to read my name on the official list! I felt very helpless and sad....worst thing is, the result was released on my birthday:madface:! I'm also scheduled to take NCLEX on October. It's really hard to accept but there is nothing more we could do about it, if we really want the Visa Screen Certificate then we have to sacrifice and waive our licenses and take the entire NLE on December.
We could have been finished with this if not for the Super sensational Nursing Scam:angryfire. We could have move a bit farther if the entire thing did not happen. But I guess we just have to give ourselves time to accept our fate. It's really hard but we have to MOVE ON!
Let's all think of this as a blessing in disguise! Cheer up! It's not yet the end of the world and of our nursing career!

Hi, dont let this temporary setback hinder you from achieving your dream to be an RN. Since you are going to take the NCLEX next week try to focus on that exam (i know it is quite hard). You can make it. Good luck..

hi diana_rm20! try to forget about the local boards even for just a while, until after your NCLEX at least. I know it's hard to do, but try not to let the local board experience affect your upcoming NCLEX. You can't do anything about the past but you can do a lot with future. So, think positive! I will be praying for you!

You will have a better chance of passing if you retake the entire exam, just as we recommended before. With only taking two sections, you needed to pass both sections, but with entire exam, you would have had more leeway.
I would plan on re-writing it in December, if you are planning to work in the US, you cannot get a VSC without it.
Please do not let this get you down, it happens to anyone, and has happened to anyone. Best of luck on your upcoming exams.

I also have a friend who is in the same situation as you are, she is set to take the NCLEX in October. She is not losing hope though. As for you, I say keep the faith... Consider this: "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31
God created you, and He knows exactly what you need to live your life to the fullest. As your Creator, He can restore you at the end of a draining day -- so you can play a beautiful music tomorrow!
Never, never give up, diana.

To yanix, I admire the spirit that you have. God bless.
Thank you very much for all those who replied in my thread. I have been enlightened with the caring words that you guys posted. It certainly helped me a lot and I guess I just have to go on and do what is proper.
It really is hard for me to accept that I FAILED considering the fact that I passed it the first time I took it. This is so infuriating for us and so frustrating as we have spent double the efforts with these exams. :angryfire Efforts were doubled even though we were innocent victims, people who had no inkling and did not even participate with the scam. I am just so unlucky to be part of the compromised leakage batch. But I guess I need to move on and deal with this the nursing way.
Thanks to all and may this whole situation serves as a lesson to others!

diana we have the same situation, i will be taking the nclex this september 3...
Good luck to all of us! I'm also scheduled on mid October! Let's focus on the NCLEX exam for now and maybe think about NLE after our exams!
We have to be positive, we should not let the retake result ruin our dreams of becoming a USRN.
Good luck again!
