Failed at 265 questions three times now any advice?

Published

At this point I am at a loss. I graduated 5-2013 and have now taken the nclex-RN three times and each time I failed at 265 questions! Only positive is I have stayed consisted and have t gotten worse, but I don't know what my problem is. I have done Kaplan, Hurst and thousands of questions. I know I have test anxiety, but not too much I can do for that. I take deep breaths, I take breaks. Time is not an issue either. I can read every medical thesaurus and textbook and I still wouldn't know enough to pass the exams I've had. There were stuff on there I've never heard of. I'm getting real discouraged. Please I ask for any and all advice!

Have you thought about focusing on the test anxiety? Talk to a counselor or even a good tutoring center that can help with this specific area. I think until you can get that under control, you're going to keep dealing with the same issue.

What exactly are your weak areas?

Did you look at Kaplan's test strategies?

I also failed 3 times. I'm going to try tutoring because at this point it's not my content. It's if you know what the question is asking you and how to pick the answer that nclex wants. I actually signed up for caring4you.net The tutors name is Annaleise Garrison. She has a video on youtube called "8 concepts of nursing". Give it a try and see if you like what she has to offer.

I feel like knowing what the question is asking for helps A LOT. After someone told me that at my ATI Live review, I started answering questions better, even the ones that I didn't know.

How did you know you failed PVT or BON sent the result ?

How did you know you failed PVT or BON sent the result ?

Official results will come from the BON and if resit is necessary they will also include the paperwork necessary to apply for resit

I also failed my first attempt, so I changed my studying strategies. I focused hard on content one category at a time. I also did a daily mental/oral review of what I learned. I learned to read with purpose, because many times I read, but could not remember how to apply it. Finally I passed on my 2nd try with months of preparation.

Wish you the best.

When you did practice questions, where you getting them right? Get a few NClex practice question book, and practice, practice, practice. See which areas you're weak in, and focus on them. Then after you have read the material, do practice questions again. Make sure you understand what the question is asking. Are you good with priority questions? Can you choose the best answer from a few possible choices? If not, then read a strategy on how to do that.

Good luck!
