Usually if you fail a nursing course, another program won't take you in and let you continue where you left off. You will get credit for your prereqs and all of your general education classes, but you will have to apply to other programs and start the nursing courses from scratch.
Best of luck.

Won't your present program allow you to apply for readmission? That would be your best bet even if you have to sit out as much as a year.

What kind of program are you in? Community colleges are usually consistent, so that you could actually transfer all your nursing classes between them, but pretty much every BSN program is specific to only that school, and you're starting over from the beginning. And usually your school has a readmission policy. People fail classes, it happens. Look into how to return to the program at your school where you failed the class.
If you fail a nursing class, the best person to ask about what to do next to still be able to become a nurse is the person in charge of your nursing school.

Not sure where you got that idea, but that is 100% inaccurate.
Almost all community colleges are state run and overseen by one single entity. Most community colleges are 100% identical in their classes, even in specialized programs like nursing. State run community colleges do this on purpose, because the point is to be accessible.
Again, you are 100% inaccurate.
Every state has converted their community colleges to a "system," where every community college in the state is consistent with each other, all governed ultimately under a single entity. Community colleges today are basically one college with multiple campuses.

I graduated from a community college, and you are right. My CC courses over 2 years were 4 different nine hour classes. It infuriated me that being in nursing school was considered "part time". My school was in the minority on how it did things, and because fear gets a hold of us all some times I looked at alternatives if I were not to pass a semester; there were none. While I feel bad for the OP, my school was worse if you failed. You either passed or failed based off of ONE class. It was an all or nothing deal, if you pass you pass everything. If you fail you fail everything, and your previous semesters don't mean anything if you fail.
My last semester was really bad as far as this goes. The state said my college could no longer run nursing the way they currently were doing it and had to accept new state regulations. That means had I failed the credits from my own school would not transfer... to my school! I didn't know them personally, but 3 poor bastards didn't make it on the last semester.
Also, I knew a guy who didn't make it second semester. He was close, but came up short. He applied to get back in a year later and they told him no. He was one of the ones who just BARELY didn't pass, and when I asked my prof why they didn't get him back in I was told that if a spot is open in any given semester than they will let past failed people in. So, if the class behind you is doing well, you are screwed. If a lot of people fail, you are in.
I am glad I didn't get into that situation. A big part of nursing is about caring for people, but nursing school can be cut throat. Hoping that enough people fail so that I can get back in sounds like the "Hunger Games".
