Hello I am asking around to see how is it possible to win an appeal when it really has nothing to do with policy is there a chance? My dean said I didn't make the grade point blank very cut and dry. But see I have committed everyday to this pushed my kids aside and worked o very hard. Not that people don't I no I am not alone. But I found myself taking the final and I was on number 50 and I marked 49 on the scantron I never checked prior questions because time. I have a diagnosis of anxiety and ADD but I didn't request accomidations because I wanted to see if I could do without now I kick myself because if I had enough time I could have caught a error and passed. I felt so confident after the finaland I don't feel that way easily so this makes sense to me. The school had us pay for boards get unform and pin all before knowing if we passed I have been crushed. Is appealing this a joke?

I'm sorry that you made that mistake.
You can throw yourself on their mercy but I doubt that they'll make an exception. Generally speaking, grade cut-offs are hard stops otherwise it becomes a slippery slope.
You should probably prepare yourself to repeat the class.

Truthfully at my school I have never seen anyone win an appeal to pass a class in regards to just not making a high enough grade. If it's just repeating the class I would probably not, from my own experience it's like repeatedly being kicked in the shins over and over again with each person you talk to. If it's a matter of not being able to repeat or being out of your program then yes you have nothing to lose.
Also get accommodations! I finally got accommodations this last semester something I truly needed long ago but kept saying I didn't need. It made a world of a difference. And not to be all cliche and say everything happens for a reason...but in my experience it does. And having to repeat classes for me made a world of a difference in my knowledge. And helped me realize sometimes you need to just ask for help (accommodations) even if you think you don't need them.

Does your program allow you to submit evidence based practice to appeal test questions? If so, make an appointment to review your exam and appeal those test questions professionally and with nursing rationale.
Good luck!
They don't let us see the final afterwards
I already repeated nursing 2 so I'm done now í ½í¸ªí ½í¸ª
I wish it was just repeating but I'm done now. I am trying to decide between achieve prep and rockland I'm just not ready to let go of pccc
Okay if this is you being done with the program absolutely appeal! You have nothing to lose. The exact same thing happened to me, I appealed and it was granted. You basically fall on your own sword in your letter and say what you did wrong and what you will do different if they let you stay in the program and repeat this one class. You will get accommodations, see a tutor every week if you have to etc. etc.
And technically then you are appealing a policy. You're appealing the policy that if you fail 2 classes you're out. I say go for it you've got nothing to lose and if it doesn't work you know you did everything you could.

Dear Professor:
Kindly accept this letter as notice of my intent to appeal to the academic appeals board with regard to the weighted score I received on the final exam for Nursing 4. As you may be aware, I received a 73.67 where a 74.5 is required to pass. While I believe that my diagnosed and documented medical conditions of anxiety and Attention Deficit Disorder would have required Passaic County Community College to make an accommodation for the exam, I admittedly failed to seek that accommodation at the beginning of the semester. I strongly believed, although erroneously, that I could overcome my disability and secure a passing grade without an accommodation. This belief was solidified as a result of my performance on the ATI, which predicted a probability of passing the NClex-RN on the first attempt of 95%. Coupled with how well I did in the clinical setting, to the point that I was offering assistance to my classmates. I also was offered the opportunity to apply at Mountainside Hospital and Raritan Hospital, by the E.R. director, once I received my RN.
I have requested the opportunity to review the exam to determine whether my disability had any impact on my score or to determine whether there may be acceptable answers worth discussing with the appeals board. As you are aware, I caught myself putting an answer on the scantron to the incorrect question, but since time was my issue and feeling anxious, I did not check the prior questions. I felt total confidence after this final; however, I truly believe that there could be similar misaligned mistakes to prior questions since I was unable to check them. Had I had an accommodation, I would have had more than enough time to review.
I am committed to my academic and professional future in nursing and look forward to the opportunity to discuss my grade, and to be considered to retake the first half of my Nursing 4 final exam.
I respectfully request that you review my achievements and provide a date and time when it would be convenient to meet and discuss my unique situation. Thank you in advance for your courtesy and cooperation.

The letter sounds good. I hope you succeed.
I no I won't they don't care about anything except policy everything else is not of importance. But if I drive them crazy and send them home with a headache I done well.
See if there's a counselor or someone you can seek out for advice, for which course of action is better appealing your final grade or the policy of fail 2 courses and you're out.
I've always been told you're not allowed to review the final exam no matter what. Otherwise your letter sounds fine. But if you already think they won't approve it maybe go from the policy standpoint that they let you repeat the class and complete the program. Just a thought. Either way hope you succeed!
