  1. Of course I need to be paid but what I mean is I'm not in it for the paycheck. Sorry you misinterpreted it.
  2. I'm having trouble getting over it. The students that passed and could care less about people just in it for the money. It's just so not fair they failed the wrong person í ½í¸¥
  3. Hello I have a situation. I'm looking for guidance as well as anyone who may have had some success with the same situation. I had a illness during nursing 4 so I missed passing by .83 of a point. I asked to repeat my final and was denied. I hired an attorney and it's still denied. I have spent 10 grand on school another 10 on legal fees. I was seeking help for my symptoms during school despite positive test results wasn't treated nor diagnosed. My specialist app wasn't until school was over and she gave me my diagnosis and treated me. I couldn't go for any assistance since I had no diagnosis. So they are telling me the ada doesn't go retroactive despite my lab work and doctors letter. I had Lyme disease and suffered my last semester. I'm an awesome Lpn I was taught to be compassionate and empathetic but the school does t care. I'm looking for a way to be able to just retest I don't want anything handed to me I scored 95 percent probality to pass my boards I no the information. I appreciate any advice thank you so much
  4. Well apparently I was misdiagnosed. I just found out I have Lyme disease. I thought it was ADD and apparently the issues I was having were due to Lyme. My joints started hurting in the beginning of Nursing 4, so besides being treated for ADD and put on medications with unwanted side effects, I was put on Embrel and later humara forpsoriatic Arthritis. So I now have an attorney helping my case and hope this solifies my appeal case ....
  5. I wrote my letter actually. I have had some legal advice but the letter is from me. Thank you
  6. I have never been on any medications for ADD until the RN program. I didn't plan to stay on it after graduation. It just helps me focus on reading long chapters and studying. Regardless since the board looks at the syllabus being followed and integrity I'm pretty sure there won't be any consideration on my issue. But I'm willing to fight hard like I did in school to let them no I'm not going to just so easily let it go It truely meant so much to me and I no I'm no different then others. But I have seen people in clinicals not care about there patients it's all about the paycheck and for me it's not. I don't deserve money until I gain more exsperience and I'm willing to work for it while giving the best care I can to any of my patients. I happen to be the only one to fail nursing 4 and I sit and wonder why did it happen to me. It's all irrelevant feelings caring empathetic working hard doing the job with your heart and being an overall good kind caring person gets me nowhere not a chance because well it's not all so much on policy and procedure. I appreciate all the advice good and bad forever learning
  7. Thank you for speaking on my behalf. Yes I'm an Lpn.
  8. Can I ask you a question , I just received a email from the chair of the appeals commitee he is reviewing my informstion and emailing me the paperwork for appeal process. It won't be until the fall which leaves me sitting here wondering do I start another program or wait and just review. He said it's the commitee responsibility to make sure syllabus has been followed and the integrity policy followed. So I don't no what to think or feel about this
  9. This is what I found in the handbook Grade Appeal is when there is belief that there has been an error in the calculation or reportingof a final grade, or a question or concern about a final grade. The student should first contact theinstructor. Should it be necessary to carry the inquiry further, follow the conflictresolution/appeal process found in the college catalog. Educational institutions have the responsibility for evaluating students by standards and agrading system which is publicized and known to instructors and students. The responsibility fordetermining the final grade of each student rests with the faculty member who has responsibilityfor teaching the course in which the student is responsible for demonstrating the learning whichresults in a final grade. A student who feels that the final grade he/she received in the class isunfair is entitled to an appeal. Any student pursuing a grade appeal must follow the procedure outlined below. Students areresponsible for taking action within the procedural timeline. Grade appeals not following thisprocedure are not eligible for review. Step One: The student must discuss his/her concerns with the instructor. Step Two: If no agreement can be reached, the student may appeal to the Chair of the department. Step Three: If no agreement can be reached, then the student may appeal to theAcademic Appeals Committee, which will make a recommendation to the Senior VicePresident for Academic and Student Affairs. Step Four: The Student may appeal directly to the Senior Vice President of Academicand Student Affairs after the Academic Appeals Committee has made itsrecommendations.
  10. Yes it is hard. I'm having a difficult time with this really. I have been working towards my rn for 14 years between life having kids renewing science classes getting my Lpn. They never look for points to help you they don't care. If thry gave me a chance to redo the final and I failed then ok but there is no more chances. I'm still waiting for an appeal date and I no I won't win but if I drive them crazy send them home with a headache I done well. I no you can't do for one and not do for others but I believe each situation is different. Then I was told you shldnt be cutting it so close to the grade either would you want your family or yourself treated by a nurse who just barely cut grade ? Idk I wonder if it's a sign since everything with school I have to work so so hard for it doesn't come easy for me and I still fail. Sorry I'm having a pity party for myself when you see your pin your outfit have to cancel hair appointment and tell family that's flying in the news it's all so heartbreaking all the sacrifice away from my children was suppose to pay off and I didn't succeed í ½í¸ª
  11. We were aloud to see the exams except the final. They should me my scan tron only I was told because they shred them but I don't really no. I don't expect to win this but something that means so much I can't let it go easily
  12. I no I won't they don't care about anything except policy everything else is not of importance. But if I drive them crazy and send them home with a headache I done well.
  13. May.16, 2016 Dear Professor: Kindly accept this letter as notice of my intent to appeal to the academic appeals board with regard to the weighted score I received on the final exam for Nursing 4. As you may be aware, I received a 73.67 where a 74.5 is required to pass. While I believe that my diagnosed and documented medical conditions of anxiety and Attention Deficit Disorder would have required Passaic County Community College to make an accommodation for the exam, I admittedly failed to seek that accommodation at the beginning of the semester. I strongly believed, although erroneously, that I could overcome my disability and secure a passing grade without an accommodation. This belief was solidified as a result of my performance on the ATI, which predicted a probability of passing the NClex-RN on the first attempt of 95%. Coupled with how well I did in the clinical setting, to the point that I was offering assistance to my classmates. I also was offered the opportunity to apply at Mountainside Hospital and Raritan Hospital, by the E.R. director, once I received my RN. I have requested the opportunity to review the exam to determine whether my disability had any impact on my score or to determine whether there may be acceptable answers worth discussing with the appeals board. As you are aware, I caught myself putting an answer on the scantron to the incorrect question, but since time was my issue and feeling anxious, I did not check the prior questions. I felt total confidence after this final; however, I truly believe that there could be similar misaligned mistakes to prior questions since I was unable to check them. Had I had an accommodation, I would have had more than enough time to review. I am committed to my academic and professional future in nursing and look forward to the opportunity to discuss my grade, and to be considered to retake the first half of my Nursing 4 final exam. I respectfully request that you review my achievements and provide a date and time when it would be convenient to meet and discuss my unique situation. Thank you in advance for your courtesy and cooperation.
